BES主要刊登我國和其他國家在生物醫(yī)學和環(huán)境科學領域中的研究論文，內容包括：衛(wèi)生學、病毒學、流行病學、寄生蟲病學、營養(yǎng)學、毒理學、藥理學、環(huán)境與健康、微生物學、化學、有害物質（包括環(huán)境污染物、食品添加劑、農藥、工業(yè)化學物質等）對各種生物的作用和毒理研究以及這一領域中應用的藥理學、生物化學、病理學、免疫學和分析化學等方法的研究。另外，本刊還登有關天然污染物和合成污染物在生物圈中的分布和轉歸等方面的研究及其對人體健康影響的研究成果和實驗經驗的研究，此外還報道公共衛(wèi)生方面的研究。
