It was a sunny day. A clam came out to rest in the sun. A snipe saw him and pecked（1） at the clams flesh（2）．The clam closed his shell（3）and squeezed（4） the snipes beak（5）．
“If it does not rain today and it does not rain tomorrow，you will be a dead（6） clam，”said the snipe．
“If you cannot free yourself today and you cannot free yourself tomorrow，you will be a dead snipe，”replied the clam．
Neither（7） of them would give up（8）. Just at that moment, a fisherman came and caught both the clam and the snipe．

鷸說(shuō)：“如果今天不下雨，明天不下雨，你將會(huì)變成一只死河蚌。”
河蚌也對(duì)鷸說(shuō)：“如果你的嘴今天出不來(lái)，明天也出不來(lái)，那么你將變成一只死鷸?！?/p>
他倆誰(shuí)也不肯讓步，這時(shí)，一位漁翁走來(lái)，不費(fèi)吹灰之力把他們兩個(gè)都擒住了。
