Based on the Beijing Municipa]Govern-ment's plans fOr developing thc City andneiGboring SHburbs,and ancr more than10 years in developmerit，the Beijing De-velopment Zones have taken shape,each with theirown characteristics.Beijing now has three state-level development zones: Zhongguancun SciencePark,the Beijing Economic and Technological De-velopment Zone (Yizhuang) and the Beijing AirportIndustrial Zone.To better attract investment and en-terprises,each of the different zones have a uniquefunction and purpose.Zhongguancun Science Parkfocuses on the development of computer softwareand hardware licensing,while the Beijing Economicand Technological Development Zone is attractiveto enterprises that process raw materials and manu-facture products.The development zones all holdmany advantages,and make a major contribution toBeijing's economy.
