A novel I wrote in the 1980s about Japanese orphans in China caused a big stir in Japan.I received a letter from Mr.Hirotami Kinoshita,CEO of the culture center under NEC.He said in the letter that he was touched by the novel and wanted to come to China and see me.At that time I was a deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Ma'anshan Municipal Government.[ wasted no time to invite him to visit Ma'anshan,a city on the Yangtze River in Anhui Province.
