This winter, except the part of Russia in the far east, Alaska and the eastern part of Canada where the tempera-ture was higher than usual, almost all the other mid-and high-latitude areas in the Northern Hemisphere experi-enced exceptionally cold condictions. Even Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan were stricken by the coldness.
