Teacher： Tom and John！ Why are you late for school today？

老師： 湯姆！約翰！你倆今天為什么遲到？

Tom： Madam， I lost a one-dollar coin and was searching for it.

湯姆： 老師，我掉了一美元硬幣，我在找它。

Teacher： John， what about you？

老師： 那么你呢，約翰？

John： Madam， I was not able to move beacause I was hiding that coin under my feet.

約翰： 老師，我不能動啊，因為我把他的硬幣藏在腳底下了。 Tom： Great news， teacher says we have a test today， come rain or shine.

湯姆： 好消息，老師說今天無論下雨還是天晴我們都要考試。

John： So what's great about that？

約翰： 那有什么好高興的？

Tom： It's snowing outside！

湯姆： 因為現(xiàn)在外面在下雪！

（◎come rain or shine是指“不管發(fā)生什么情況”，相當于我們所說的“風雨無阻”。而湯姆以為是指下雨和天晴兩種情況下才需要考試。）

Teacher： Did your father help you with your homework？

老師： 你父親有沒有跟你一起做作業(yè)？

Student： No， he did it all by himself.

學生： 沒有，他是獨立完成的。
