澳大利亞總督彼得·科斯格羅夫在澳大利亞駐華公使館舊址圖片展開幕式上致辭。Governor of Australia,H.E.Sir Peter Cosgrove deliverying speech at the ceremony.

3月29日，澳大利亞總督彼得·科斯格羅夫訪問重慶，并為在澳大利亞駐華公使館舊址舉行的抗戰(zhàn)時期澳駐渝機構(gòu)圖片展揭幕。彼得總督表示，澳大利亞駐華公使館舊址見證了兩國愈發(fā)蓬勃的友好態(tài)勢，也見證了重慶的經(jīng)濟發(fā)展，此次圖片展是對兩國之間自二戰(zhàn)時期便結(jié)下的深厚友誼的深切致敬。

澳大利亞駐華公使館于1940年10月在抗戰(zhàn)期間的重慶鵝嶺原童家花園修建，是澳大利亞在中國設(shè)立的第一個駐華公使館，也是澳大利亞第三個派駐海外國家的外交機構(gòu)，成為了重慶與澳大利亞交往的標(biāo)志。

在參觀完圖片展覽后，彼得總督還前往園內(nèi)參觀了在2009年時任澳大利亞外交部長斯蒂芬史密斯訪渝時，在鵝嶺公園內(nèi)親自種下的象征中澳友誼的紀(jì)念桉樹。

當(dāng)日下午，彼得總督一行還前往重慶空港物流園區(qū)，出席了澳大利亞嘉民重慶空港物流中心的開幕典禮，并為奠基石揭幕、種植紀(jì)念樹。

重慶市副市長陳綠平、中國駐澳大利亞大使馬朝旭、重慶市政府副秘書長艾揚、澳大利亞駐華大使孫芳安、澳大利亞駐成都總領(lǐng)事郭南希陪同并參加相關(guān)活動。

On March 29,Governor of Australia,H.E.Sir Peter Cosgrove visited Chongqing and unveiled the photo exhibition of Australia’s diplomatic mission in wartime China.Sir Peter Cosgrove said that the Chungking legation site has witnessed increasingly vigorous momentum of friendship between Australia and China;also the economic development of Chongqing,this photo exhibition is a deep salute on profound friendship between the two countries during World War II.

Australia’s legation in China was built at Eling(original the Tongjia Garden) in Chongqing during the anti-Japanese war in October 1940,it is the first resident mission in China,also third stationed overseas diplomatic mission of Australia,which symbolizes the friendly exchanges between Chongqing and Australia.

After visiting the exhibition,H.E.Sir Peter Cosgrove went to visit the eucalyptus that symbolized the memorial Sino-Australian friendship which the former Australian Foreign Minister,Mr.Stephen Smith personally planted inside the Eling Park in 2009 during his visit to Chongqing.

That afternoon,H.E.Sir Peter Cosgrove went to Chongqing Airport Logistics Park to attend the opening ceremony of the Australian Goodman airport logistics center establishing in Chongqing,unveiling the foundation stone,planting memorial trees.
