母親的箱子

Mother's Box

The war broke out.Followed the heart,the young husband joined the army and sacrificed1his life,leaving behind his wife and kids.

戰(zhàn)爭爆發(fā)了，年輕的丈夫聽從自己的心意去參軍，他犧牲了，留下妻子和幾個(gè)孩子。

Postwar life was very hard,often with not enough food to eat.Still young and beautiful,the wife refused to remarry and dedicated2her life to raising her kids with the best possible care and education.

戰(zhàn)后的生活很艱難，經(jīng)常是食不果腹。他的妻子還年輕美貌，但是她拒絕再嫁，她用自己一生的時(shí)間去撫養(yǎng)孩子并且給予他們最好的關(guān)愛和教育。

A chance came,the first born son immigrated3to America,studied hard and became a NASA engineer having a good life.

機(jī)會(huì)來了，長子移民去了美國，學(xué)有所成，成為了美國國家航空航天局的一名工程師，生活優(yōu)越。

The son often sent home letters,together with much money for mom to spend.However,with many excuses,the son refused to return home to visit mom.

兒子經(jīng)常給家里寫信，并給母親寄了很多錢。不過，兒子找了很多理由不回家看望母親。

When the mother died,the son returned and organized a big funeral4but people did not see him cry.

母親去世了，兒子終于回來了，為母親舉辦了一個(gè)盛大的葬禮，但是人們沒有看到兒子流淚。

Mother left behind a box that she always placed at the top of her bed.During the funeral, the son opened the box and suddenly bursted into tears,embraced his mother’s coffin and screamed hysterically5,“Mom!Mom!”

母親留下一只箱子，生前她總是把箱子放在床頭。葬禮中，兒子打開了箱子，突然抱住母親的棺木，歇斯底里地哭喊著“媽媽，媽媽！”

Everyone looked at each other and looked at the chest.It was full of 100 dollar bills and a piece of paper.

在場的每個(gè)人都面面相覷，他們看著箱子，里面都是百元美鈔，還有一張紙。

In it read,“Son,I don’t spend too much money.I miss you a lot.Every time I hear a motorcycle passing by,I run out the door but it isn’t my son.I save this money for you in case when you get sick.”

紙上寫著：“兒子，我用不了多少錢。我很想念你。每次聽到摩托車經(jīng)過，我就跑出門外，但那不是我的兒子。我省下了這些錢，萬一你生病了……”
