歌的故事

卡朋特樂隊（Carpenters），或稱木匠兄妹，無疑是一個家喻戶曉的名字。理查德·卡朋特（Richard Carpenter）和卡倫·卡朋特（Karen Carpenter）兄妹于1965年組建了卡朋特樂隊，并于1969年推出了首張專輯，其中一首披頭士的老歌翻唱為他們的成名奠定了基礎。

《（她們渴望）靠近你》出自作曲家伯特·巴卡拉克（Burt Bacharach）和作詞人哈爾·大衛(wèi)（Hal David）之手，在最初發(fā)表時并未引起關注。直到1970年，卡朋特兄妹翻唱了這首歌，歌曲便蟬聯(lián)公告牌冠軍寶座長達一個月之久，而卡朋特樂隊也從此一炮而紅。恰到好處的美式復古風，卡倫華麗流暢的聲線，將開頭漫不經心的小憂傷逐漸過渡到滋長于心底、似乎秘而不宣卻又路人皆知的歡喜，而后再輕快地躍過一個個轉折點……卡朋特兄妹演繹的《（她們渴望）靠近你》就是這樣一首令人百聽不厭的經典。

此后樂隊佳作不斷，卡朋特兄妹亦成了20世紀70年代無數美國青年的偶像。在當時金屬與迷幻泛濫的年代，他們的歌曲猶如一股純凈的清風吹拂著人們的心靈。1983年2月，年僅32歲的卡倫·卡朋特因神經性厭食癥離開人世，卡朋特樂隊也隨之解散。
