Abstract: River closure is very important in construction of hydropower project in which dam is a main structure. Being temporary water retaining structures , design and construction of upper and lower temporary cofferdams are one of key projects before dam river closure. In this paper, design standards , construction process and main construction methods are described for upper and lower temporary cofferdams in Jatigede dam in Indonesia , providing experiences for the similar projects.

Abstract: Coca Codo Sinclair hydropower station is located on Coca River Basin between Chaco area and Lumbaqui Area in Napo and Sucumbios Provinces in Ecuador. The terrain conditions and traffic roads are complex in this areas and construction is hard. In order to ensure normal operation in site construction , when failure and accident occur in construction machinery , emergency measures should be taken in time and construction equipment must be recovered or moved away as quickly as possible and construction must be restored. In this paper, emergency rescue plan for construction equipment are made according to real conditions of project, providing references for site emergency treatment of construction machinery at hydropower station.

Abstract: In this paper, the second stage river closure project at Nam Ou 2 hydropower station are described in detail in respect of general layouts of river diversion and river closure, and hydraulic computations. Comparison between real river closure conditions and design are made. Some engineering experiences are summarized to provide references to the similar projects.
