Dogs are our good friends. They are cute and smart. Some dogs have a job. Guide dogs（導(dǎo)盲犬） are one of those dogs. They help blind people（盲人）. How can a dog be a guide dog？

Guide dog puppies（幼犬） first live with a family. When they are 1 year old，they go to a guide dog school. They study there for about six to eight months.

The trainers（訓(xùn)練員） take them to different places，such as shops，buses and hospitals. The dogs learn good manners（禮貌）. And they learn to help people stay safe（保持安全）. There are tests（測試）. Some dogs pass（通過） the tests and start to（開始） work. A guide dog works for about eight to ten years.
