A girl friend of mine had just given birth and was rolled back to her delivery room. She was struggling to open her eyes and started looking around, anxiously, at the people around her. Her pale lips were opening and closing but no sound came out, her arms were flailing as if she was trying to gesture something but didn’t have the strength to lift them up.
Everyone was guessing as to what she was trying to say, but they were all rejected by the slight shake of her head. Watching her get more and more agitated,we all just looked at each other, not knowing what to do. Just then, her husband came to her side, bent over, and whispered something into her ear. All of a sudden it was as if a heavy load had been lifted off of her shoulders, she shut her eyes and went quietly to sleep.
Later I asked her husband:“What was it that you whispered to her?”
He replied: “I told her, ‘Darling,I’ve already taken a picture of the baby and posted it on Instagram,Twitter and Tumblr.’”
