When I was a child，

Nostalgia（懷舊）seemed a tiny stamp，

“Here was I

And there...my mother.”

小時候，

鄉(xiāng)愁是一枚小小的郵票，

我在這頭，

母親在那頭。

Then I was a grown-up，

Nostalgia became a small ship ticket，

“Here was I

And there...my bride.”

長大后，

鄉(xiāng)愁是一張窄窄的船票，

我在這頭，

新娘在那頭。

During the later years，

Nostalgia turned to be a little tomb，

“Here was I

And yonder（在那邊） ...my mother.”

后來啊，

鄉(xiāng)愁是一方矮矮的墳墓，

我在外頭，

母親在里頭。

And today，

Nostalgia looms large to be a shallow

strait，

“Here am I

And yonder...my motherland!”

而現(xiàn)在，

鄉(xiāng)愁是一灣淺淺的海峽，

我在這頭，

大陸在那頭。
