What does your dream look like? A dream may be a ray of light shining in the dark. A dream may be a ladder stretching[伸展]into the bottom of a valley. A dream is where you believe your future will be.
As Langston Hughes once said, “Hold fast[緊緊地]to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren[貧瘠的]field frozen with snow.” It is dreams that light the way ahead of us. No matter how difficult the situation will be, go forward rather than hesitate.
Confidence encourages the brave to chase the sun. Hesitation only makes you lose your spirit and direction. Others may scoff[嘲笑]as you go after those seemingly inaccessible goals, but if you don’t even try, it is your dreams that will scoff you. Be confident and go forward. What you can do doesn’t depend on what you think but what you really do. Even though we are just some little stars with tiny sparks[閃光]for now, we have the ability to brighten our own universe in future.
Once we have chosen the direction, what we should do is to try our best. Chasing dreams is like chasing the sun—despite the risks and hardship along the journey, we can never retreat[撤退]. More importantly, always take action at once. It is a waste of life delaying anything about your dreams. The road built by ourselves is the only access to ourfinal goal.
In Tagore’s words, “We are all born as the bright summerflowers, undefeated and never wither[凋謝].”
So, go forward rather than hesitate.
