ARTHUR'S READING RACE

D.W. 朵拉

前情提要：亞瑟在學(xué)校學(xué)會了認(rèn)字，要教妹妹朵拉讀書。朵拉認(rèn)為自己早已學(xué)會認(rèn)字了。于是兩人打賭：如果朵拉能認(rèn)出十個詞，亞瑟就給朵拉買冰激凌。在上一期中，朵拉已經(jīng)認(rèn)出了7個詞，她能否認(rèn)出10個詞并且得到冰激凌呢？

“Bank,” said D.W. “I have a bank. I hide my money in it so you can’t find it.Bank makes eight words.”

“看，銀行，”朵拉說，“我也有個小存錢罐。我把我的零錢放在里面，好讓你找不到它們。算上‘銀行’，我已經(jīng)認(rèn)出八個詞語啦。”

“We’re almost home,”said Arthur. “Too bad.You only read eight words. No ice cream for you today.”

“Hold your horses,” said D.W. “I spy…ice cream.Hot dog! I read ten words. Let’s eat!”

“快到家了，”亞瑟說，“真可惜，你只認(rèn)出八個詞語，今天不能給你買冰激凌嘍。”

“別忙嘛，”朵拉說，“我看到了……冰激凌，還有熱狗！我認(rèn)出十個詞語啦，咱們吃冰激凌去吧！”

D.W. and Arthur ran to the ice cream store.

Arthur bought two big cones.

朵拉和亞瑟跑進(jìn)冰激凌店。亞瑟買了兩個大蛋筒冰激凌。

Strawberry for D.W. and chocolate for himself.

“Yummy,” said D.W.

亞瑟把草莓味兒的給了朵拉，自己留下巧克力味兒的。

“太好吃了！”朵拉咂咂嘴說。

Arthur sat down.

“Sit down with me,” said Arthur,“and I’ll read you my book.”

“No,” said D.W. “I’ll read YOU the book.”

亞瑟坐下來說：“坐我旁邊吧，我來給你讀書?！?/p>

“不，”朵拉說，“我來給你讀?！?/p>

Arthur shook his head.

“I don’t think so,” he said.

“There are too many words that you don’t know.”

D.W. laughed. “Get up, Arthur.”

“Now I can teach you two words that you don’t know,” said D.W.

“WET PAINT!”

亞瑟搖搖頭回答：

“不行，這本書里有很多你不認(rèn)識的字?！?/p>

朵拉“撲哧”一笑，說：“快起來，亞瑟！”

“還是我來給你讀四個你不認(rèn)識的字吧，”朵拉說，“油漆未干！”
