70多年前，聯(lián)合國為實(shí)現(xiàn)對(duì)全球公民的承諾，創(chuàng)建了“托存圖書館”制度，將成千上萬的出版物和文件送往世界各地的托存圖書館，供各地的人們查閱聯(lián)合國出版的各類文件。重慶是擁有這樣一座托存圖書館的20個(gè)中國城市之一。4月25日，重慶圖書館與聯(lián)合國達(dá)格·哈馬舍爾德圖書館合作，將部分當(dāng)年聯(lián)合國成立初期送往重慶的書籍和出版物，帶回到紐約聯(lián)合國總部“省親”。這場(chǎng)籌備了半年之久的展覽展出了100多張圖片，60多種聯(lián)合國出版物，這些物品見證了聯(lián)合國與中國的緊密合作與聯(lián)系。

More than 70 years ago, the United Nations created“depository” system, and sent thousands of publications and documents to depository libraries around the world for people to view as a way to honor its commitment. Chongqing is one of the 20 Chinese cities with such a depository library. On April 25th,the Chongqing Library cooperated with the Dag Hammarskj?ld Library of the United Nations to bring home some of the books and publications, which dated back to the early days of the United Nations. The exhibition, which had been in preparation for half a year, exhibited more than 100 pictures and 60 UN publications that have witnessed the close cooperation and engagement between the United Nations and China.

當(dāng)天，聯(lián)合國達(dá)格·哈馬舍爾德圖書館館長Thanos Giannakopoulos、重慶圖書館館長任競(jìng)、羅斯?？偨y(tǒng)圖書館館長Paul Sparrow、紐約川渝總商會(huì)、華人華僑代表等嘉賓出席了在紐約聯(lián)合國總部舉行的開幕儀式。

重慶圖書館館長任競(jìng)在開幕式致辭中表示，重慶既是二戰(zhàn)時(shí)中國的戰(zhàn)時(shí)陪都，現(xiàn)在也是中國中西部唯一的直轄市，具有特殊的歷史地位。重慶圖書館作為重慶市主要的文獻(xiàn)信息收集交流和服務(wù)中心，以及重慶對(duì)外文化交流的窗口，認(rèn)真履行文獻(xiàn)收集和保存的宗旨和使命，提供平等的文獻(xiàn)信息服務(wù)，積極搭建和世界文化溝通的橋梁。

In his opening speech, Ren Jing said that Chongqing has a special historical status, for it is not only a wartime capital during World War II, but also the only municipality in the central and western China. As the major center for document information collection and communication and the window of foreign cultural exchanges, the Chongqing Library conscientiously fulfills its its mission of document collection and preservation, provides equal access to document information services, and actively builds a bridge of communication with other cultures.

The exhibition lasted until May 9. According to the relevant principal of the organizer, the exhibition mainly displayed the early UN literature from the Chongqing depository library, either physically or through pictures,ranging from the period of the League of Nations in the 1920s to the 1960s. Included are resolutions and reports issued by the world body and its main organs, such as the “Documents of UN Conference on International Organization on San Francisco 1945”,which recorded the process of discussing and adopting the UN Charter by the founding members, documents of the first session of UN Security Council held in London 1946, and documents of the first and second sessions of the United Nations General Assembly. In addition, there are 26 versions of the first United Nations Profile published in 1947 and rare United Nations documents and publications. These documents fully demonstrate the history, research and achievements of the UN depository library in Chongqing, as well as the outstanding contributions of the United Nations in maintaining international peace and development.

The National Roosevelt, predecessor of the Chongqing Library, was established in honor of former US President Franklin D. Roosevelt for his contribution to the China's resistance against the Japanese aggression and to the anti-Fascist victory in the Second World War. The library is also the first public library in China named after the president. In 1947, thanks to the unremitting efforts of the first director, Mr. Yan Wenyu,the National Roosevelt Library was designated as a UN Document Depository and became one of the first libraries in China with such mandate. After more than 70 years of development, the Chongqing Library has nearly 260,000 UN documents and more than 23,000 publications, including the rare documentaries in the international alliance period and the early days of the United Nations. Gradually, the library has forms its collection characteristics and produced impressive results.

“The exhibition has a very deep historical origin, which is a tribute to the United Nations depository libraries and the Dag Hammarskj?ld Library. It also involves tracing to the source of one of the three major collections of the Chongqing Library“United Nations literature.” Ren Jing said.

Thanos Giannakopoulos, extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Chongqing, China, and introduced the mission of the United Nations Library since its establishment and the digital reforms of library in the New Internet Era.

展覽持續(xù)至5月9日。據(jù)主辦方相關(guān)負(fù)責(zé)人介紹，展覽主要以實(shí)體文獻(xiàn)和照片的形式，向公眾展示從重慶不遠(yuǎn)萬里帶去的、作為聯(lián)合國托存圖書館所收藏的部分聯(lián)合國早期文獻(xiàn)，時(shí)間跨度從聯(lián)合國的前身國際聯(lián)盟開始，一直到20世紀(jì)40年代、50年代、60年代。包括聯(lián)合國及其主要機(jī)構(gòu)通過的決議和發(fā)布的報(bào)告等，如記錄聯(lián)合國創(chuàng)始會(huì)員國討論和通過《聯(lián)合國憲章》過程的“1945年舊金山聯(lián)合國國際組織會(huì)議文件”、1946年聯(lián)合國安理會(huì)在倫敦舉行第一次會(huì)議通過的會(huì)議文件、第一屆和第二屆聯(lián)合國大會(huì)部分會(huì)議記錄文件。此外，還有1947年出版的首版《聯(lián)合國概況》和珍稀聯(lián)合國文件及出版物26種（冊(cè)）。這些文獻(xiàn)資料充分展現(xiàn)了聯(lián)合國托存圖書館在重慶的歷史沿革及其研究和利用成果，以及聯(lián)合國在維持國際和平與發(fā)展方面的卓越貢獻(xiàn)。

重慶圖書館的前身是為紀(jì)念美國前總統(tǒng)羅斯福對(duì)中國人民抗日戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)暨世界反法西斯戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的重大貢獻(xiàn)，而創(chuàng)建的“國立羅斯福圖書館”，也是中國第一家以外國總統(tǒng)命名的公共圖書館。1947年，在首任館長嚴(yán)文郁先生的努力下，國立羅斯福圖書館被授予了“聯(lián)合國文獻(xiàn)托存資格”，成為中國最早獲此殊榮的圖書館之一。歷經(jīng)70多年的發(fā)展，重慶圖書館托存聯(lián)合國文件近26萬件，出版物2.3萬多冊(cè)，其中包括此次展出的國際聯(lián)盟時(shí)期、聯(lián)合國成立初期的珍稀文獻(xiàn)，逐漸成就館藏特色，影響深遠(yuǎn)。

“此次展覽的舉辦，有非常深厚的歷史淵源。既是重慶圖書館作為聯(lián)合國托存圖書館向聯(lián)合國及達(dá)格·哈馬舍爾德圖書館的獻(xiàn)禮，同時(shí)也是對(duì)重慶圖書館三大特色館藏之一的‘聯(lián)合國文獻(xiàn)’的追根溯源。”任競(jìng)說。

聯(lián)合國哈馬舍爾德圖書館館長Thanos Giannakopoulos歡迎來自中國重慶的代表團(tuán)，并介紹了聯(lián)合國圖書館自從建立以來的使命，以及在新的網(wǎng)絡(luò)時(shí)代圖書館進(jìn)行的數(shù)字化改革。

期間，重慶圖書館任競(jìng)館長還向達(dá)格·哈馬舍爾德圖書館贈(zèng)送了重慶圖書館出品的珍貴圖書和文創(chuàng)產(chǎn)品。未來，兩館將就文化旅游和文獻(xiàn)信息服務(wù)等方面開展進(jìn)一步的交流和合作。

During the period, Ren Jing presented some precious books and cultural and creative products of the Chongqing Library to the Dag Hammarskj?ld Library. Going forward, the two libraries will engage in further exchanges and cooperation on cultural tourism and document information services.
