Born in Shanghai， calligrapher Gu Benjian learned calligraphy from Gao Shixiong and Liu Xiaoqing. He now serves as the curator of Shanghai Badaitou Calligraphy and Painting Academy， curator of Ningyunhan Calligraphy and Painting Art Museum， a member of Shanghai Calligraphers Association， and the Vice Chairman of Shanghai China and The West Art Association. He is the National First Level calligrapher. In 2011， he obtained the title of “Outstanding Contemporary Artist”in the 4th China-Japan Friendship Art Exchange Activity. His calligraphy artworks presented strong and unrestrained spirit with excellent technique of writing. With mature skills， Gu Benjian now has won many awards. In a recent auction in Hongkong， his artwork was traded at a high price of HKD 600， 000.

上海書法家顧本建，師從高式熊和劉小晴老師，現(xiàn)任上海八埭頭書畫院院長、凝云翰書畫藝術(shù)館館長、上海書法家協(xié)會會員，上海中西美協(xié)副主席、國家一級書法師。2011年在第四屆中日友好文化藝術(shù)交流中被授予“當代杰出藝術(shù)家”稱號。2013年與多名書畫藝術(shù)家共同為中央黨校創(chuàng)作了《民族復(fù)興中華魂》并以行楷書體書寫序跋。2015年受陳云紀念館邀請為紀念陳云同志誕辰110周年詩詞楹聯(lián)獲獎作品全文書寫。顧本建書法行筆剛健瀟灑，筆法精湛，疾中有滯，或飄逸或凝練，一派古樸典雅的盛唐氣象。行書如行云流水，韻味純厚，自成一體，楷書端莊秀雅，功力頗厚。且布局于參差中求自然，于錯落中求流貫，大大增添了小楷章法的情趣。顧本建亦擅長山水和花卉，作品受到海內(nèi)外收藏家的追捧。而今，顧本建的書法技藝日臻成熟，先后被評為上?！鞍倜忻駮摇薄爸腥瘴幕涣魈厥埂薄皽愕貐^(qū)最受藏界歡迎的年度藝術(shù)家”“當代杰出藝術(shù)家”“中國傳統(tǒng)文化最高成就獎”等獎項。顧本建熱衷于公益活動，把幾十年的經(jīng)歷投身在中國傳統(tǒng)文化的傳承和發(fā)揚光大上，是一位品正才厚的書法家。
