TOO TALL HOUSES

兔子和貓頭鷹不僅是一對(duì)好朋友，還是友好相處的鄰居呢?？墒怯幸惶欤堫^鷹把自己的房子加高了，遮擋住了兔子家的陽光。于是，兔子也把自己的房子加高了，這下貓頭鷹不樂意了！就這樣，他倆的那兩座小房子越建越高，都鉆到云里去了……最后，又會(huì)怎么樣？

Rabbit and Owl lived in two small houses on top of a hill.

Rabbit liked to grow vegetables in the sun，and Owl enjoyed the view of the forest.

In the evening， they played under the twilight sky.

They were good neighbors and good friends.

Until one day ...

"Rabbit！ Your garden is growing too tall. I can't see the forest！"

"But what can I do？ " replied Rabbit. "I have to grow my food."

So Owl began to build his house taller.

Rabbit watched and chittered his teeth.

Rabbit built his house taller， too， and planted somevegetables on the roof.

But when Rabbit watered his plants， it made Owl veryangry！

So Owl built his house even taller.

"I want to be the tallest！" yelled Rabbit.

So Rabbit built his house even taller.

"Who do you think youare！" screeched Owl.

And he went to findmore twigs for his house.

And Rabbit went to fetchmore soil for his house.

And soon they had the tallest houses in the world.

"I can't carry water up my ladder！" cried Rabbit.

"And I can't see the forest，" said Owl.

The wind roared and bellowed ... and blew the too tallhouses into the air.

Crack！

"All I have left is a pile of dirt，" moaned Rabbit.

"My house is nothing but broken twigs，" sighed Owl.

Alone they had nothing， but together they had allthey needed ...

... to build a small house and live happily together.
