In this fight, we have witnessed the efforts of governments, dedication of medical workers, exploration of scientists, and perseverance of the public. People of different countries have come together. With courage, resolve and compassion which lit the dark hour, we have confronted the disaster head on. The virus will be defeated. Humanity will win this battle! "

In the general debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, President Xi Jinping profoundly expounded the four revelations that this pandemic brings to mankind:

-- We are living in an interconnected global village with a common stake.

-- Economic globalization is an indisputable reality and a historical trend.

-- Humankind should launch a green revolution and move faster to create a green way of development and life, preserve the environment and make Mother Earth a better place for all.

-- The global governance system calls for reform and improvement.

At the critical moment, China's voice and China's views once again arouse strong resonance in the international community.

The global pandemic is rampant at a time of unprecedented changes in the world unseen in a century. In this arduous contest, all countries are closely linked, and the future of mankind is shared by all people. No country can profit from the difficulties of other countries and neither can gain stability from the turbulence of other countries.

Presently, the realistic needs and the value of the times to jointly meet the challenges and build a beautiful home are more prominent. Unity and cooperation will surely dominate the core narrative of the global anti-pandemic struggle, become the common memory of every individual and country, and write an important chapter in promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind in the 21st century.

I.

In a large city of Wuhan along the big river in September, the campusesare full of books-chanting students. Nearly 1.4 million primary and middle school students and children started school on time, and over one million college students returned to school. Reuters, the Wall Street Journal and other foreign media reported that "this is a huge symbol of victory." Wuhan has become an epitome of major strategic achievements in China's anti-pandemic struggle today.

He who works together with one heart from top down will win, and he who works with unity will win. The 1.4 billion Chinese people unite as one, overcome the difficulties in trying time, and resolutely win the people's war, the general war and the war of resistance against pandemic outbreak and achieved the virus prevention and control. On this basis, the work of pandemic prevention and control, and economic and social development was promoted as a whole, and the economic development was stable and improved, and the production and living order was restored steadily. The United Nations has allocated 75 million US dollars as the emergency funds, the G20 countriesannounced their debts service suspension initiative for the world's poorest countries, the IMF provided grants for the poorest and most vulnerable members, the World Bank helped developing countries to strengthen health systems, and the COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis Recovery Fund established by Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank has reached 13 billion dollars. Joining hands to beat the pandemic, China actively undertakes international obligations. Promoting the anti-pandemic cooperation, and firmly safeguarding the peoples’ safety and health of the people of China and various countries have shown the broad mind, a broad vision, and due responsibilities. Wherever the mountains and rivers are, they share the same sun and the moon during the day. Seven years ago, President Xi Jinping first proposed to build a community of a shared future for human kind, showing the profound grasp of China's leaders on the general trend of world development. "Global crises such as the pandemic outbreak of infectious diseases have made mankind aware of the necessity of cooperation and shared benefits and building a community of a shared future for mankind", said Martin Albrow, the initiator of the concept of globalization and academician of the British Academy of Social Sciences, and was deeply touched. "Can we work together to defeat a common and dangerous enemy? Or is it left to fear, doubt and irrationality and to disintegrating. In the face of this major pandemic, China dose not only shoulder responsiblity for the safety and health of Chinese people, but also fulfils its duty for global public health. China has a profound historical accumulation in putting forward and practicing the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind. From ancient times to the present, the Chinese nation has brought far-reaching influence on the development of human civilization, which is not relied on militarism and coercion, but on the deep and long-standing intrinsic value of Chinese civilization as well as the strong and ceaseless appeal and attraction of Chinese culture.Convincing with morality and educating in culture are deeply engraved on the spiritual background of the Chinese nation and flow in the inherited blood of keeping pace with the times. In the face of the pandemic outbreak, China has kept in mind the support and assistance from the international community, and returned their kindness. China remains calm and unaffected by all kinds of arrogance and prejudice, so the rich Chinese civilization has nurtured a major power's bearing of being able to cope with changes.

The mountains and rivers change and the calendaryears renew. As a form of civilization that embraces all rivers, the Chinese civilization has formed the values of pluralism, inclusiveness, harmonious and symbioticcoexistence. "Universal love not invasion, be kind and friendly to neighbors","as rationality prevails the whole world becomes one community,” the Chinese nation, with the broad mind of "building harmony with all nations", confidently and equally carries out exchanges with the people of other countries. Since the founding of new China, as a socialist country, it has never treated world affairs through narrow zero-sum game and hegemonic contention. As early as the 1970s, when discussing the grand proposition of human future, British historian Arnold Joseph Toynbee viewed China's influence on the future world from the characteristics of civilization. He believes that Chinese civilization is a kind of civilization with the value orientation for "pacifism" and "harmonious world", which is the farthest away from narrow nationalism, and will become the common spiritual wealth of mankind in the 21st century.

The economy falls into negative growth, trade and investment shrank sharply…The impact of the novel coronavirus outbreak on the economy will not only bring with those short-term difficulties, but also far-reaching wariness: will the novel coronavirus outbreak be the last straw to crush economic globalization? People are worried that in the post-pandemic era, the de-globalization trend of thinking will intensify, and unilateralism and protectionism will occupy more "market" space. The more difficult it is, the more one sees the strategic determination to forge ahead in the face of changing situation and in the teeth of difficulties. The relations between major powers have an important impact on international cooperation in combating the pandemic outbreak. At the extraordinary moment of global anti-pandemic, some American politicians are blowing the evil wind of "new Cold War" and taking dangerous methods to push the Sino-U.S. relations to the direction of confrontation, which not only arouses widespread concern in the international community, but also attracts a lot of criticism inside the United States.

The United States is the country with the most serious pandemic outbreak in the world, with already nearly 7 million confirmed cases and more than 200,000 deaths. A commentary published on the website of Singapore's Straits Times points out that playing the blame game by American leaders will only put more American lives in danger, so for the United States and its allies, focusing on saving lives and working with China to find out an effective vaccine will work much better. "At a time when the United States needs China most, the White House becomes a geyser of anti-China paranoia, said the Atlantic Monthly, the lesson of the pandemic outbreak is not that the United States should end its cooperation with China, but must rebuild bilateralcooperation in public health.

Looking back on the past, there is never short of successful cooperation between China and the United States in times of crisis.
