On a sunny afternoon， Tom says， “I think Ill go and see David.”

On the way to see David， Tom meets Henry.

湯姆在去看望大衛(wèi)的路上遇到了亨利。

“Hello， Henry，” shouts Tom.

“你好，亨利?！睖泛暗?。

“Good afternoon， Tom，” says Henry.

“下午好，湯姆?！焙嗬f。

“Where are you going？” asks Tom.

“你要去哪里？”湯姆問。

“Me？ I am going to see David，” answers Henry.

“我？我要去看望大衛(wèi)?！焙嗬卮稹?/p>

“What a coincidence1！I am on my way to David，” says Tom.

“真是巧！我正在去大衛(wèi)家的路上?！睖氛f。

“Shall we walk together？” asks Henry.

“那我們一起走，好嗎？”亨利問。

“Good idea，” answers Tom.

“好主意?！睖坊卮?。

A few minutes later， they ring the bell of David.

幾分鐘后，他們按響了大衛(wèi)家的門鈴。

David opens the door and smiles， “What a surprise， my best friends Tom and Henry！ Come in. Ill make a cup of tea for the three of us.”

大衛(wèi)打開門，笑著說道：“真是個(gè)驚喜，我最好的朋友湯姆和亨利來了！快進(jìn)來，我來給大家泡茶?！?/p>

“That is great，” says Tom.

“太好了?！睖氛f。

“Thank you，” says Henry.

“謝謝。”亨利說。

A few minutes later they have their tea with a home-made piece of cake in the house of David.

幾分鐘后，他們?cè)诖笮l(wèi)的家中喝著茶，吃了一塊自制的蛋糕。

“Did you hear the latest news？” asks David.

“你聽說了最新消息嗎？”大衛(wèi)問。

“About what？” asks Tom.

“關(guān)于什么的？”湯姆問。

“About Eric，” says David.“Yesterday he fell with his bicycle and now he is at the hospital.”

大衛(wèi)說：“關(guān)于埃里克，昨天他騎自行車摔倒了，現(xiàn)在在醫(yī)院里。”

“Oh， dear！He must have a lot of pain2，” says Henry.

“哦，天啊，他一定很痛。”亨利說。

“I have an idea. Shall we pay Eric a visit at the hospital？” asks Tom.

“我有個(gè)主意。我們?nèi)メt(yī)院看望埃里克，好不好？”湯姆問。

Henry and David find it a great idea and a few minutes later the three friends get on the bus to the hospital. They have brought a piece of cake in a paper box with a nice ribbon3. It is a present for Eric.

亨利和大衛(wèi)覺得這是個(gè)好主意，幾分鐘后，這三個(gè)朋友就乘公共汽車去了醫(yī)院。他們買了一塊蛋糕，裝在系著漂亮緞帶的紙盒里。這是給埃里克的禮物。

This hospital is huge with hundreds of corridors and a thousand rooms. They look around and wonder4 how they can find Erics room. Then they see a sign5 with the word “Reception6”. Behind the counter7 there is a kind lady asking them who they are and what they are looking for.

這家醫(yī)院很大，有數(shù)百條走廊和上千個(gè)房間。他們環(huán)顧四周，想知道如何找到埃里克的病房。然后他們看到一個(gè)標(biāo)有“接待處”字樣的指示牌。柜臺(tái)后面有一位善良的女士，問他們是誰，他們?cè)谡沂裁础?/p>

“I am Tom，” says Tom.

“And I am David，” says David.

“我叫大衛(wèi)。”大衛(wèi)說。

“My name is Henry. We are here to pay a visit to Eric，” says Henry.

The receptionist8 smiles and says， “Eric is in room 312. Take the elevator9 to the third floor and then you turn to the right. The room is on the left side of the corridor.”

接待員笑著說：“埃里克在312室。乘電梯到三樓，然后向右拐。病房在走廊的左側(cè)?！?/p>

They go to the third floor and can hardly control10 themselves not to run to Erics room， but they know that you should not run in the hospitals corridors.

他們?nèi)チ巳龢?，迫不及待地跑向埃里克的房間，但是他們知道不應(yīng)該在醫(yī)院的走廊里跑。

Just in front of the door with Erics name， the three of them run inside.

一走到有埃里克名字的病房門前，三個(gè)人就跑了進(jìn)去。

Eric is in a huge bed with his right leg hanging11 up in the air.

埃里克躺在一張大床上，右腿懸掛在空中。

There is a nurse12 in the room who shouts， “Ho， ho， ho， be careful or you will break your legs as well！”

房間里有一位護(hù)士大喊：“喂、喂、喂，要小心，否則你的腿會(huì)再骨折一次！”

Eric is full of joy. His friends thought of him and they even brought him a present.

埃里克滿懷喜悅，他的朋友們想到了他，甚至還給他帶了禮物。

Tom， David and Henry are eager13 to know about Erics accident14. They hold their breath when Eric tells them what happened.

湯姆、大衛(wèi)和亨利都很想知道埃里克的事故經(jīng)過。當(dāng)埃里克告訴他們發(fā)生了什么時(shí)，他們屏住了呼吸。

At the same time， the lady with her white coat gently walks quietly out of the room. The nurse has already heard Erics story plenty of times.

就在此時(shí)，那位穿白大褂的女士輕輕地走出了房間。這名護(hù)士已經(jīng)聽了很多次埃里克的故事了。
