This is the heroic story of my great-grandparents， who devoted themselves to the revolution. Either in the period of wars or construction， they lived a meaningful life as doctors， hand in hand. Their road to revolution is full of tears and blood.

Born in 1925， my great-grandfather Chen Maomin joined the army without telling his family at the beginning. He got his education from the political instructor in the New Fourth Army. Gradually he learned about the theories of the New Democratic Revolution（新民主主義革命） and the situation of the War of Resistance Against Japan （ 抗日戰(zhàn)爭 ）. After he studied in a health school of the ministry of health， he joined the Communist Party of China later. He showed what a brave man was like in many important battles， including the Eastern Henan Campaign（ 豫東戰(zhàn)役 ） and the Huaihai Campaign（ 淮海戰(zhàn)役 ）. He was recommended as the model in the army many times. More importantly， he got the Liberation Medal of PRC. As a great hero， he gave up the chance to work in the city after the liberation， striving to work for medical service in the country. It is a pity that Ive never seen him and heard him tell the stories.

My great-grandmother Sun Xiulan was born in 1924 and had been a member of the New Fourth Army since 1945. She was a soldier in the ministry of health and then in the 99th Hospital of PLA. She spent all her youth saving and treating the wounded in the war. We have just thrown her a grand birthday party to celebrate her birthday this year. How I wish her good health all the time， to enjoy more happy days today， for my great-grandfather and for herself.

The great couple are not only my great-grandparents but my heroes. Their life experiences paint a picture of what a meaningful life should be like. In this golden era， there are also many different forms of revolutionary roads. I hope to be a brave and kind-hearted man on my road， just like them.
