No one knows how this holiday began but it was thought(認為)to have begun in France. The story goes like this: the French originally(最初)celebrated(慶祝)the New Year on March 25th and the celebrations lasted(持續(xù))until April 1st. Later King Charles IX changed the New Years Day to January 1st. But some village people didnt know the change. They still(仍然)celebrated the New Year on April 1st. So people laughed at them as April Fools.
開心詞典:
April Fool(四月的傻瓜): A person who is tricked (被捉弄)on April 1st
act the fool(干傻事): to behave (舉止)in a silly way
fools paradise(虛幻的樂境): being happy about something that is not real

小書蟲的話:April Fools Day is a “fun holiday”. And if(假如) you want to fool with(戲弄) somebody on that day, remember to make both of you feel funny. Dont play terrible jokes on one another! 記住,玩笑不能過分哦!
