1. 后跟名詞。例如：

I like geography，but I prefer math. 我喜歡地理，但更喜歡數(shù)學(xué)。

Which subject do you prefer，English or math? 英語和數(shù)學(xué)這兩門課，你更喜歡哪一門?

在初中英語中，出現(xiàn)過兩個(gè)由prefer構(gòu)成的結(jié)構(gòu)：

1. prefer... to... 寧愿……不愿……

(1) 后跟名詞。例如：

I prefer classical music to popular music. 我喜歡古典音樂，不喜歡流行音樂。

Mike prefers cheese to ice cream. 邁克喜歡奶酪，而不喜歡冰淇淋。

Most people prefer trains to buses. 大多數(shù)人喜歡坐火車而不喜歡坐公共汽車。

(2) 跟V-ing形式。例如：

I prefer working to sitting idle. 我寧愿干活，而不愿閑坐著。

Many people prefer watching TV at home to seeing films at the cinema at present. 現(xiàn)在很多人寧愿在家看電視而不愿去電影院看電影。

2. prefer to do... rather than do... 寧可做……也不愿做；喜歡做……而不愿做……

I would prefer to spend the weekend at home rather than drive all the way to your mothers. 我覺得與其開車跑那么遠(yuǎn)到你母親那里去度周末倒不如在家里過更好些。

She prefers to go with us rather than stay behind. 她寧愿和我們一起去，而不愿留下來。
