——第三屆“漢語(yǔ)橋”世界中學(xué)生中文比賽在重慶成功舉辦

金秋10月,重慶?!皾h語(yǔ)橋”刮起一股漢語(yǔ)“世界風(fēng)”。
第三屆“漢語(yǔ)橋”世界中學(xué)生中文比賽10月16日—30日在這里隆重舉行。來自35個(gè)國(guó)家的40個(gè)代表隊(duì)的120名中學(xué)生及40名領(lǐng)隊(duì)教師,搞比賽、學(xué)漢語(yǔ)、進(jìn)校園、住家庭、逛超市、學(xué)唐詩(shī)、賞美景、植綠樹、辦論壇……一一領(lǐng)略中華文化,感受重慶魅力。
全國(guó)人大常委會(huì)原副委員長(zhǎng)許嘉璐在閉幕式上觀看了這些洋學(xué)生們?cè)谥貞c“現(xiàn)炒現(xiàn)賣”的精彩節(jié)目后,激動(dòng)不已。他稱贊“這些來自世界各國(guó)的中學(xué)生們,在重慶的10多天時(shí)間里,不僅學(xué)到了很多中國(guó)才藝,還提高了自己的漢語(yǔ)水平,在這背后,是他們對(duì)中國(guó)、對(duì)重慶濃濃的情誼,令人感動(dòng)”。
“漢語(yǔ),作為世界上最古老的語(yǔ)言之一,銘刻著中華民族的燦爛文明?!眹?guó)家漢辦主任許琳在開幕式上說:“今天,隨著中國(guó)與世界的交融,漢語(yǔ)所代表的優(yōu)秀中國(guó)文化,歷經(jīng)五千年積淀,正煥發(fā)出更加璀璨的光彩?!?/p>
由國(guó)家漢辦和重慶市政府主辦,重慶市教委和重慶廣電集團(tuán)承辦的本屆“漢語(yǔ)橋”世界中學(xué)生中文比賽正成為開放的大重慶走向世界的新舞臺(tái)。市委常委、宣傳部部長(zhǎng)何事忠說,今天的重慶,蓬勃活力不斷煥發(fā),正在走向世界的舞臺(tái),“漢語(yǔ)橋”在重慶舉辦搭建起了世界各國(guó)寬闊、堅(jiān)固的語(yǔ)言之橋、感情之橋、友誼之橋、和平之橋。

面對(duì)這樣一次難得的國(guó)際盛會(huì),重慶如何做才能更好地傳播中華文化,提升重慶的國(guó)際形象呢?
答案是:舉全市之力辦好“漢語(yǔ)橋”。
自“漢語(yǔ)橋”比賽落戶重慶,重慶市領(lǐng)導(dǎo)高度重視。中共中央政治局委員、重慶市委書記薄熙來,市長(zhǎng)黃奇帆等提出了要求。
作為主管教育的副市長(zhǎng),謝小軍親臨一線全面指揮。今年3月,他親自率團(tuán)專程拜訪了國(guó)家漢辦、孔子學(xué)院總部,并表示:“重慶市委、市政府高度重視重慶的對(duì)外開放,‘漢語(yǔ)橋’世界中學(xué)生中文比賽在重慶舉辦,可以進(jìn)一步提升重慶的國(guó)際知名度,擴(kuò)大重慶的國(guó)際影響力,我市將舉全市之力辦好第三屆‘漢語(yǔ)橋’,為漢語(yǔ)國(guó)際教育多作貢獻(xiàn)?!?/p>
本屆國(guó)際賽事呈現(xiàn)“一長(zhǎng)三多”的特點(diǎn):賽事歷時(shí)長(zhǎng)(15天),參賽國(guó)多,觀摩團(tuán)多,賽事活動(dòng)多,這對(duì)重慶的組織工作都提出了非常高的要求。為此,重慶市教委和重慶廣電集團(tuán)(總臺(tái))在市委市政府的統(tǒng)一領(lǐng)導(dǎo)下,在有關(guān)部門的全力配合下,全面調(diào)動(dòng)相關(guān)資源,積極為“漢語(yǔ)橋”的順利開展鋪路搭橋,將這項(xiàng)國(guó)際賽事辦好辦實(shí)?;顒?dòng)組織了4所大學(xué)和12所中學(xué)直接參與賽事工作。除“五洲風(fēng)采”、“同臺(tái)競(jìng)技”、“學(xué)在重慶”和“快樂購(gòu)物”四場(chǎng)比賽外,還開展了“住在大學(xué),體驗(yàn)校園文化”、“拜師學(xué)藝,交融多元文化”、“快樂購(gòu)物,考驗(yàn)生活本領(lǐng)”、“住家體驗(yàn),走進(jìn)中國(guó)生活”等多項(xiàng)零距離的體驗(yàn)活動(dòng),并創(chuàng)新地組織駐華使節(jié)、海外校長(zhǎng)、師生來華觀摩比賽,首次在“漢語(yǔ)橋”比賽過程中舉辦了中外校長(zhǎng)論壇、重慶市情介紹會(huì)等多項(xiàng)國(guó)際合作與交流活動(dòng)。
為了更廣泛宣傳本次國(guó)際大賽,大賽組委會(huì)全方位運(yùn)用媒體的影響力,充分調(diào)動(dòng)社會(huì)力量參與這項(xiàng)國(guó)際賽事,《重慶日?qǐng)?bào)》專門開展了第三屆“漢語(yǔ)橋”中文比賽重慶有“禮”征集活動(dòng),面向全市征集三件“大禮”:一首好歌、十個(gè)故事、百句諺語(yǔ)格言,并作為文化禮物贈(zèng)送給參賽的外國(guó)選手?;顒?dòng)共收到好歌1650首,好故事2860個(gè),名言警句6435條,各類作品千余件,參與的市民達(dá)到了66723人。一件件充滿智慧和愛心的禮物,寄予著重慶人對(duì)海外朋友的熱情、對(duì)家鄉(xiāng)和本土文化的熱愛。對(duì)此,許嘉璐副委員長(zhǎng)極為贊賞。

本屆“漢語(yǔ)橋”最大的特點(diǎn)是比賽融趣味性、體驗(yàn)性、互動(dòng)性于一體,選手們充分體驗(yàn)到了在趣味中學(xué)習(xí)漢語(yǔ),在體驗(yàn)中提高漢語(yǔ)的樂趣。
拜師學(xué)藝是本次“漢語(yǔ)橋”比賽的重要環(huán)節(jié)。這個(gè)環(huán)節(jié)打破了原來以國(guó)籍為代表的隊(duì)伍組合,120名參賽選手重新抽簽,以中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)的12生肖為代表組成了牛隊(duì)、鼠隊(duì)……等12支隊(duì)伍,分別走進(jìn)重慶一中、重慶南開中學(xué)、重慶八中等12所中學(xué),拜師學(xué)藝,在老師的指點(diǎn)下學(xué)習(xí)中國(guó)文化。
各校給這些洋學(xué)生安排了豐富的學(xué)習(xí)內(nèi)容,誦古詩(shī)、唱京劇、演紅巖、練太極、學(xué)書法、跳民族舞蹈……讓這些只在國(guó)外學(xué)過漢語(yǔ)的洋中學(xué)生既新奇又快樂,還興趣盎然。
在重慶市南開中學(xué),分別來自德國(guó)、美國(guó)、俄羅斯、愛爾蘭、奧地利、吉爾吉斯斯坦、新加坡、新西蘭和老撾9個(gè)國(guó)家的10位外國(guó)學(xué)生被編為“牛隊(duì)”,選手們?cè)谀祥_中學(xué)老師的指導(dǎo)下,排練起一臺(tái)熱鬧的音樂劇。音樂劇中,選手們不僅要大秀舞技,更要把唐詩(shī)唱進(jìn)Rap里(黑人俚語(yǔ),相當(dāng)于“談話”)。
“碧玉妝成一樹高,萬條垂下綠絲絳。不知細(xì)葉誰(shuí)裁出,二月春風(fēng)似剪刀?!碧拼?shī)人賀知章的詩(shī)作《詠柳》可謂婦孺皆知,但如果把這首詩(shī)編進(jìn)Rap唱詞里,又會(huì)有怎樣的新意?在南開中學(xué)藝術(shù)館的舞蹈排練室里,牛隊(duì)的10名選手就隨著音樂節(jié)奏,唱起了Rap版《詠柳》。
在巴蜀中學(xué)、巴縣中學(xué)、育才中學(xué)等學(xué)校都進(jìn)行了這種拜師學(xué)藝活動(dòng)。
一曲曲優(yōu)美抒情的重慶民歌,一首首用說唱形式來朗誦的唐詩(shī)和獨(dú)具重慶特色的梆鼓舞……,在這些以12生肖為隊(duì)名組成的國(guó)際聯(lián)隊(duì)選手中,洋學(xué)生們通過學(xué)校老師的指點(diǎn)教導(dǎo),刻苦學(xué)習(xí),身臨其境地了解到了中國(guó)民間的傳統(tǒng)文化,這些國(guó)際選手還以漢語(yǔ)為平臺(tái),在“漢語(yǔ)橋”這個(gè)大家庭里快樂比賽、相互學(xué)習(xí)、彼此融合,實(shí)現(xiàn)了多元文化的交流。領(lǐng)隊(duì)教師和學(xué)生們都認(rèn)為這種新穎的學(xué)語(yǔ)形式獨(dú)特而快樂,大受歡迎。

瑪麗是120名前來參加本屆“漢語(yǔ)橋”的 加拿大選手之一。10月23日,她與中國(guó)朋友,來自重慶魯能巴蜀中學(xué)高一的學(xué)生顧欣怡度過了愉快的一天。欣怡一家陪她逛了繁華的北城天街,還登上了朝天門游艇,觀賞了美麗的重慶夜景,參觀了著名的三峽博物館,觀看了打年糕、魔術(shù)、中國(guó)畫和著名的手工藝制作品制作流程。她還第一次彈起了琵琶。欣宜的父母還送給她一本非常珍貴的中國(guó)郵票。
“這里的一切簡(jiǎn)直太好玩了?!边@位加拿大女孩激動(dòng)地說。
本屆“漢語(yǔ)橋”特別為參賽選手安排了“住家體驗(yàn)”環(huán)節(jié),來自35個(gè)國(guó)家的120名參賽選手分別住進(jìn)了重慶普通市民家中,切身體驗(yàn)中國(guó)普通百姓的飲食起居家庭文化?!拔覀?cè)诳偨Y(jié)去年的基礎(chǔ)上優(yōu)化了本次的住家體驗(yàn)方案,使選手走進(jìn)尋常百姓家,零距離感受、體驗(yàn)中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)的家庭文化,使比賽的互動(dòng)性與參與性更強(qiáng)?!敝貞c市教委 主任彭智勇稱。

120名選手住進(jìn)了120個(gè)重慶家庭,他們就有120個(gè)不同的幸福感受。我們來聽聽他們的感言吧:
越南選手范玉璧:對(duì)我來說,“住家體驗(yàn)”是在重慶很難忘的一個(gè)記憶。我的中國(guó)父母、妹妹還帶我去磁器口,去溜真冰,去吃重慶特產(chǎn)和小吃。雖然時(shí)間短,但我已經(jīng)知道了“重慶——山美水美人更美”的真正含義。
美國(guó)選手倪睿昕:排練完后,我感到很疲憊,可聽到中國(guó)爸爸媽媽要來接我的時(shí)候,我高興地蹦了起來。我第一次吃到了甜甜的湯圓,吃了羊肉串。逛了好久后我們回家睡覺了,睡得飽飽的(香香的),感覺好幸福,在這個(gè)三口之家感覺更幸福,想到中國(guó)爸爸知道我喜歡喝礦泉水后沖下樓的背影,如今仍倍感溫馨。
“住家體驗(yàn)”帶給選手們的回憶太多太多,正如緬甸選手郭家富說的那樣:到了重慶哇!真的是橋多!很美麗!今天的中國(guó)不再只是少林功夫,也不只是文言古文,更不只是長(zhǎng)城、故宮,它已經(jīng)向世界呈現(xiàn)了一個(gè)現(xiàn)代化的中國(guó),也向世界證明了這種文化的開放性和包容性。
與往屆比賽不同的是,今年“漢語(yǔ)橋”比賽特別增加了“快樂購(gòu)物”這一重要環(huán)節(jié),選手們一一走出演播室、走出傳統(tǒng)比賽場(chǎng),去到真實(shí)的大千世界,體驗(yàn)自己的生活本領(lǐng),大大增加了比賽的趣味性和互動(dòng)性。
10月26日中午,120位選手按原始團(tuán)隊(duì)到重百超市進(jìn)行購(gòu)物比賽。超市里面琳瑯滿目的各式商品讓選手們有點(diǎn)找不著北。在尋找紙巾、酸奶等商品的過程中還算順利。干桂圓、板栗、核桃三種干貨放在同一個(gè)貨架上,都是土褐色,外形大小也相似,一出手一個(gè)同學(xué)就錯(cuò)把干桂圓當(dāng)成了板栗,當(dāng)另外兩個(gè)同學(xué)對(duì)照懸掛在上面的食品價(jià)格表時(shí)才發(fā)現(xiàn)錯(cuò)了。
“‘酷爽’立白三支裝是什么東西?”日本隊(duì)的三位選手用了12分41秒最先完成任務(wù)走出超市,但他們放棄了這道題。在超市工作人員的耐心解釋下,他們才明白原來這是一種牙膏。

在重慶知名景點(diǎn)洪崖洞,9名在“超市闖關(guān)”成績(jī)最好的選手進(jìn)行了一場(chǎng)另類比賽,它們走進(jìn)洪崖洞的商鋪向老板請(qǐng)教打糍粑、做木槌酥等民間手藝,并用漢語(yǔ)兜售自己親手制作的商品。他們要完成3項(xiàng)任務(wù):一是用漢語(yǔ)向游客賣出6件“漢語(yǔ)橋”文化衫;二是跟著店老板學(xué)習(xí)糍粑、木槌酥、酸辣粉的制作,并向游客兜售自己制作的食品;三是用籌得的錢到指定位置購(gòu)買一幅中國(guó)國(guó)畫。
用漢語(yǔ)兜售文化衫對(duì)外國(guó)選手們來說難度不大,一會(huì)兒工夫它們就順利地賣完了6件文化衫。學(xué)做重慶的民間小吃卻是一件充滿挑戰(zhàn)的環(huán)節(jié)。丹麥隊(duì)的三位男中學(xué)生雖然力氣夠大,但對(duì)軟棉棉的糍粑卻一點(diǎn)辦法也沒有,最后還是在于師傅手把手指導(dǎo)下,花了10多分鐘才勉強(qiáng)“出爐”了一個(gè)糍粑。
丹麥選手告訴記者,這場(chǎng)比賽難度比前幾場(chǎng)都要高,但感覺更有意義,“在學(xué)習(xí)民間手藝的過程中,我們不僅認(rèn)識(shí)了糍粑的漢字怎么說,是什么意思,而且還了解到它的豐富文化?!?/p>
到底考試多好,還是考試少好?在外國(guó)校長(zhǎng)眼中,中國(guó)的“應(yīng)試教育”利弊何在呢?10月25日上午,在重慶南開中學(xué),近20名外國(guó)中學(xué)校長(zhǎng)與重慶市36所中學(xué)的50余名校長(zhǎng)和教育官員對(duì)此進(jìn)行了理性研討。
這些外國(guó)中學(xué)校長(zhǎng)分別來自美國(guó)、荷蘭、越南等10多個(gè)國(guó)家的著名中學(xué),他們是應(yīng)本屆“漢語(yǔ)橋”組委會(huì)特邀,赴渝觀摩“漢語(yǔ)橋”比賽的。在渝期間,外國(guó)校長(zhǎng)們還深入重慶市多所中小學(xué),進(jìn)行一對(duì)一的訪問交流活動(dòng)。
針對(duì)“考試問題”,美洲校長(zhǎng)代表、美國(guó)曼哈頓BHSEC中學(xué)的校長(zhǎng)RayPeterson表示,標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化的考試在美國(guó)也非常有爭(zhēng)議,支持者說考試能評(píng)估學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)收獲,而反對(duì)者說,考試會(huì)讓教育最本真的意義喪失,讓學(xué)生們跟著考試走。他坦承,有時(shí)候?qū)W生們的確會(huì)為了應(yīng)付標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化考試,花費(fèi)大量時(shí)間來做一些意義不大的事。
“我們那里的校長(zhǎng)和很多學(xué)生也為考試頭疼,我們也不希望因?yàn)闇?zhǔn)備考試而占據(jù)孩子們過多的時(shí)間,這些時(shí)間應(yīng)該拿去學(xué)更多有用的東西。”加拿大溫哥華Chorohill中學(xué)校長(zhǎng)安德魯表示。
對(duì)此,中方校長(zhǎng)代表、四川外語(yǔ)學(xué)院附屬外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)校校長(zhǎng)張?jiān)T普f,現(xiàn)在很多學(xué)校教外語(yǔ)就只停留在應(yīng)付考試的階段,“其實(shí)一張?jiān)嚲聿荒苋婧饬繉W(xué)生的外語(yǔ)水平,只有堅(jiān)持綜合評(píng)價(jià),才能讓考試不失公允”。
“在應(yīng)試環(huán)境下,我們能做什么?”重慶八中校長(zhǎng)張勇說,這是他一直在思索的問題,他認(rèn)為,現(xiàn)階段的考試制度肯定必不可缺,但也會(huì)產(chǎn)生負(fù)面影響?!拔覀兊目谔?hào)是推行素質(zhì)教育,不放應(yīng)試考試”。張勇建議,不應(yīng)該把應(yīng)試壓力提前加在非畢業(yè)階段的學(xué)生身上,他們應(yīng)該多享受學(xué)習(xí)的快樂,沒有必要在起始年級(jí)排名次。
但大家都認(rèn)為,由于大學(xué)是以分?jǐn)?shù)招人,對(duì)于考試這樣的分?jǐn)?shù)游戲,暫時(shí)不能廢除。美國(guó)漢密爾中學(xué)校長(zhǎng)泰勒說,從目前來看,考試是無可避免的,那么就要盡量減少考試帶來的弊端。
10月22日,來自31個(gè)國(guó)家的136名中學(xué)生還齊聚重慶師范大學(xué),參加第三屆“漢語(yǔ)橋”世界中學(xué)生中文比賽觀摩營(yíng)。在10天時(shí)間里,他們興致勃勃地參觀了大足石刻,前往金刀峽、重慶動(dòng)物園和磁器口等地,感受重慶人文和自然風(fēng)貌,而學(xué)習(xí)太極拳和剪紙也是營(yíng)員們的重要活動(dòng)內(nèi)容。觀摩團(tuán)還和各國(guó)參賽選手在重慶師范大學(xué)大學(xué)城校區(qū)共同植下“友誼樹”。

同時(shí),“漢語(yǔ)橋-加拿大中小學(xué)校長(zhǎng)訪華之旅”10月23日在重慶舉行了簽約儀式,26位加拿大阿爾伯塔省和BC省教育部官員和中小學(xué)校長(zhǎng)分別在渝北區(qū)、渝中區(qū)、九龍坡區(qū)等7個(gè)區(qū)參觀訪問,并簽訂了合作協(xié)議。
以“快樂漢語(yǔ)、健康成長(zhǎng)”為主題的第三屆“漢語(yǔ)橋”世界中學(xué)生中文比賽勝利閉幕了?!皾h語(yǔ)橋”正成為一座中國(guó)連通世界的橋梁,也成為重慶走向世界的重要舞臺(tái)。
對(duì)此,國(guó)家漢辦主任許琳深有感觸。她說:“早在2000多前的漢代,張騫出使西域,把中國(guó)的漢字文化與絲綢、瓷器一起帶到遙遠(yuǎn)的西亞,直至歐洲,從此開啟了延續(xù)千年的絲綢之路;600多年前,明代的鄭和率領(lǐng)船隊(duì)七下西洋,開辟了中國(guó)文化從海上走向世界的新紀(jì)元。今天,來自世界各地不同膚色、不同語(yǔ)言的一群快樂、年青的中學(xué)生朋友,懷著對(duì)中國(guó)和中華文化的好奇和熱愛,說著與母語(yǔ)截然不同的漢語(yǔ)不遠(yuǎn)萬里齊聚重慶,相會(huì)在美麗的‘漢語(yǔ)橋’,既有緣也有趣?!?/p>
重慶市教委主任彭智勇對(duì)“漢語(yǔ)橋”搭建起重慶走向世界的大舞臺(tái)體會(huì)頗深。他說:“各國(guó)中學(xué)生朋友零距離感觸重慶的大街小巷、人文景觀和風(fēng)土人情,用心體驗(yàn)這座城市的麻辣、火熱、生機(jī)和韻致,將真誠(chéng)地把中華文化和巴渝風(fēng)情帶到世界的五大洲?!?/p>
在2009年成功舉辦第二屆“漢語(yǔ)橋”世界中學(xué)生中文比賽的基礎(chǔ)上,今年又圓滿完成了第三屆“漢語(yǔ)橋”比賽,“漢語(yǔ)橋”正成為重慶的一張國(guó)際品牌。眼下,重慶市教委正圍繞市委、市政府確定的改革發(fā)展目標(biāo),強(qiáng)化開放意識(shí),把漢語(yǔ)國(guó)際推廣作為教育國(guó)際交流與合作的突破口,扎實(shí)推進(jìn)。 (圖片由魏魏、章帝等提供)

The 3rd “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Com petition for Foreign Secondary School Students was held in Chongqing on October 16th ——30th. 120 students who are from 35 countries as well as 40 team s and 40 teachers came here for the com petition, learning Chinese, walking into the schoolyard, living w ith Chinese fam ily, going to the supermarket, and learning tang poetry and enjoying the beautiful scenery, appreciate Chinese culture and feel the charm ing Chongqing.
The Vice Chairman of NPC Standing Comm ittee Xu Jialu was excited after watching these foreign students' performance. He highly praised that “during the 10 days in Chongqing, the m iddle school studen ts from all over the wo rld no t on ly learned a lo t o f accom plishments of China, but also im proved their standard of Chinese, behind this it shows their emotions to China, Chongqing, which is really sensational”.
As the world's oldest language, Chinese is etched with the brilliant civilization of China. The director of National Hanban Xulin saying at the opening ceremony, “nowadays, w ith the combination of China and the world, Chinese which represents the outstanding Chinese culture is coruscating the brighter flame after 5,000 years' cultural accumulation.
The “Chinese Bridge” Competition is becom ing a new stage for Chongqing opening to the world. The member of the Standing Comm ittee, m inister of Propaganda Department of Chongqing He Shizhong said, “Chinese bridge” to be held in Chongqing has built up a worldw ide and strong language bridge, bridge of friendship and bridge of peace.
Participation o f the Entire City for the Competition
This January, National Hanban formally agreed Chongqing con tinues to undertake the th ird “Chinese b ridge”competition, leaders of Chongqing government at all levels attached great im portance to this event. The comm issary of Chinese comm unist party po litics bureau, Secretary o f Chongqing municipal comm ittee Bo Xilai, Mayor Huang Q ifan both gave directions, “trying to make innovations, and do the best”.
This international event is w ith one long three more characteristics, which is: event occurred long(15 days), more participating countries, more communicating languages, and more activities. This event organized four universities and 12 secondary schools participate directly in the reception and the activities. They developed a number of zero distance experience activities and innovational o rganized inside o f fo reign ambassadors, overseas students and principals come to China to observe the com petition. And also held the first time Chinese and foreign principals forum, and presentation of condition in Chongqing for international cooperation and exchanges. Apprenticing to experts and learning a skill is the important part of “Chinese Bridge”. 120 contestants walked into 12 Chongqing m iddle schools separately to learn skills and study Chinese culture. Singing lyrical Chongqing folk songs, reciting Tang poetry w ith rap form and distinctive feature of Bang Gu dance. The foreign students studied really hard w ith teacher's instructions and teaching and learned the Chinese traditional culture personally. These international p layers use Chinese as a platform and happily enjoyed the com petition, learning from each other, exchange cultures. The teachers and students all think this was a unique and creative way learning and speaking Chinese and is very popular.
Mary from Canada is one of the 120 p layers, on October 23th, she spent a pleasant day w ith her Chinese friend, a student who is from Chongqing Nuneng high school Gu Xinyi.Gu's fam ily took her to Paradise Walk in Jiangbei, boarded Chaotianmen yacht and viewed a beautiful night scene of Chongqing, the famous Three Gorges Museum, watched then making rice cake, magic show and the unique Chinese handiwork. She played the lute for her first time, Go's parents also gave her a precious Chinese stam ps. “Everything here is so fun”, Mary said excitedly.
This “Chinese bridge” especially set “l(fā)iving w ith Chinese fam ily” activity for the p layers. 120 contestants from 35 countries live w ith Chongqing local citizens, experience the common life of Chinese peop le and their fam ily culture. Let's listen to their reflections:
Henry from Australia: I stayed w ith a high school student, I like the rice in Chongqing, and hotpot, and it's really delicious.
Phm Ngocbich from Vietnam: It was a memorable experience to me. My Chinese parents and sister showed me Ciqikou and went skating; we ate Chongqing specialty and snacks. Although it's a short time, I understand the true meaning of “People are even more beautiful than the mountains and rivers.”
Ei Shwezin from Myanmar: I felt really tired after the trainning.but I became so excited as soon as I heard my Chinese parents were picking me up. I tried rice ball and lamb kebabs for the first time. I slept so well when I came home. My Chinese dad went downstairs to buy me drink, I felt so moved.
What's different, this time they also added “happy shopping” part to this com petition. 9 of the best p layers who did well in the “happy shopping” part joined another kind of race.They went to Hongyadong to learn how to make mallet crisp and glutinous rice cake, also sell goods that are made by them selves in Chinese.
Con troversy abou t the Advan tages and D isadvantages of Exam ination
In the morning of October 25th, nearly 20 foreign high school principals and 50 principals from 36 schools of Chongqing and education officials had rational research discussion about exam ination in Nankai School.
The principal representative from America, Principal Ray Peterson from BHSEC School, Manhattan, and U.S said, the standardized test in United States is also very controversial. Sometimes the students spend a lot of time doing things of no remarkable significance just in order to cope w ith the standardized test.
The Chinese principal representative, Principal Zhang Yuyun from Supplementary Foreign Language School of Sichuan International Studies University said that there are many schools that only teach foreign languages for tackling the exam. In fact, a sheet of paper could not comp letely measure students' language level; it is only fair by com prehensive review.
Meanwhile, the “China-Canada primary and secondary schools principals trip to China” held a signing ceremony in Chongqing on October 23.26 education officials and primary and secondary school principals from A lberta and BC ,Canada visited Yubei, Yuzhong, Jiulongpo etg,.7 districts and signed cooperation agreement.
