海明威（1899-1961）出生于美國(guó)伊利諾伊州芝加哥市郊，晚年在家中自殺身亡。海明威代表作有 《老人與?！?、《太陽(yáng)照樣升起》、《永別了，武器》、《喪鐘為誰(shuí)而鳴》等，憑借《老人與海》獲得1953年普利策獎(jiǎng)及1954年諾貝爾文學(xué)獎(jiǎng)。海明威被譽(yù)為美利堅(jiān)民族的精神豐碑，并且是“新聞體”小說(shuō)的創(chuàng)始人，他的筆鋒一向以“文壇硬漢”著稱。海明威的寫作風(fēng)格以簡(jiǎn)潔著稱，對(duì)美國(guó)文學(xué)及20世紀(jì)文學(xué)的發(fā)展有極深遠(yuǎn)的影響。

As a boy,Hemingway went hunting and fishing trips with his family and so made him know early the kinds of virtues,such as courage and endurance.After high school,he worked as a newspaper reporter and then went abroad to take part in World WarⅠ.After the war,he lived for several years in Paris.It was not long before he began publishing remarkable short stories.In the year he left Paris he published the powerful novelThe Sun Also Rises.明威從小就隨家人一起打獵、捕魚，這些讓他很早就了解了像勇氣與承受等品質(zhì)。高中畢業(yè)后，他做了一名報(bào)社記者，接著到國(guó)外參加了第一次世界大戰(zhàn)。戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)結(jié)束后，他在巴黎生活了紀(jì)念。不久，他開始發(fā)表一些優(yōu)秀的短篇小說(shuō)。在他離開巴黎那一年，他出版了著名的小說(shuō)《太陽(yáng)照樣升起》。
