倫納德·科恩（Leonard Cohen），加拿大著名詞曲作家，音樂人，詩人及小說家，1934年出生在富有濃厚歐洲氣息的蒙特利爾，大學(xué)修的是英國文學(xué)，早年以詩歌和小說在文壇聞名，小說《美麗失敗者》（Beautiful Losers）被評論家譽(yù)為60年代的經(jīng)典之作，他自身也被譽(yù)為“加拿大有史以來最重要的作家之一”。60年代初，科恩嘗試把詩改寫成歌曲，著名民謠歌手朱迪·柯林斯（Judy Collins）翻唱科恩的Suzanne受到極大歡迎，于是她說服科恩參加她的巡回民謠演唱會。登臺演出，簽約發(fā)唱片，科恩迅速在民謠界站穩(wěn)了腳跟，三十幾年下來，他總共只出了十張錄音室專輯，但均非凡品。要死不活的自憐低沉的嗓音，擁有撼人力量的歌詞和過耳難忘的旋律足以讓聽者神魂顛倒。
