“吸煙者”或“煙民”，英語可以譯為smoker?！斑B續(xù)吸煙者”，英語可以譯為chain smoker。“非吸煙者”，英語可以譯為non-smoker。例如：1. 作為世界最大的煙草生產(chǎn)國和消費(fèi)國，中國有3 億多煙民， 幾乎等于美國人口總額。As the world's largest tobacco maker and consumer,China has more than 300 million smokers, almost the sizeof the U.S. population.

2. 香煙零售價格上漲對連續(xù)吸煙者產(chǎn)生的阻礙作用有限。The rising retail price ofcigarettes has a limited deterring effect on chain smokers.

3. 吸煙者比非吸煙者的頭發(fā)稀， 而且容易更快地變灰白。Smokers have thinnerhair that tends to go graysooner than non-smokers.“吸煙”，英語動詞譯為to smoke； 名詞譯為smoking。“噴煙霧”，英語可以譯為to puff away。例如：

4. 多數(shù)煙民從十幾歲就開始抽煙了。Most people who smoke began smoking in their teens.

5. 吸煙有害健康。Smoking isharmful/detrimental/injurious/hazardous to health.

6. 在這座城市，可以在飯館、學(xué)校和其他公共空間看到煙民噴煙霧。Smokers can be seen puffingaway in restaurants, schools and other public spaces in the city.“吸二手煙“，英語可以譯為tobe exposed to secondhand smoke。例如：

7. 中國有7億4000萬人吸二手煙。In China, 740 million people　are exposed to secondhand smoke.“香煙引起的疾病”，英語可以譯為tobacco-related disease。例如：

8. 根據(jù)世界衛(wèi)生組織，中國一年有100 多萬人死于香煙引起的疾病。In China, over one million　people die from tobacco-relatedillness annually, according to theWorld Health Organization.“ 戒煙”， 英語可以譯為togive up smoking, to quit smoking, to stop smoking。例如：

9. 這名大學(xué)生已下定決心戒煙。The college student hasmade up his mind to give upsmoking.

10. 要求學(xué)校幫助學(xué)生戒煙， 并教育學(xué)生關(guān)于吸煙的害處。Schools are required to helpstudents quit smoking and educate them about the harm ofsmoking.

11. 我嘗試了10 次才戒掉煙。It took me ten attempts toquit smoking.12. 當(dāng)煙草產(chǎn)品的價格上漲10%時，戒煙的成年人數(shù)將增長3.7%。When the price oftobacco products rises by 10 percent, the number of adults whostop smoking will grow by 3.7percent.▲
