【Abstract】If a student often keeps his enthusiasm to the study， his academic record will not be bad.It is very important that the teacher affects the student's enthusiasm to the subject in the concrete practice of English teaching.Then what does the teacher should do in this process？ This text talks about it from three aspects（the first， holding the students “pulse”， respecting entity； the second， activating the teaching form， arousing the enthusiasm； the last， enlivening the atmosphere of the classroom， strengthening the sense of humor）， which will cause an active auxo-action to the boys and girls on the enthusiasm for their studies.

Enthusiasm plays a very important part in the process of studying to a student.If the teacher wants to give full play to the students enthusiasm， he should accomplish the several following points：

1.Holding the students “pulse”， respecting the entity.

The teacher should know about such general situations as the students characteristics of profession、thought and mood， the level of civilization， etc， grasp the students level of understanding to the teaching course、the point of concern and excitement which the student pay attention to and excitement to the teaching course.In the course of teaching， the teacher should see the students change of mood， hold the students state of psychology， adjust the content of instruction and means in time and the rhythm of the speed of language， etc.The teacher make sure to do the teaching flexibly according to the different situations， has strong pertinence， meet the students demand to the maximum extent.

2.Activating the teaching form， arousing the enthusiasm

The teacher should change the teaching ways such as the pouring-in and spoon-feed means conscientiously， pay more attention to the kind of teaching about research， adopt the kind of teaching about discussion more， reserve enough space and stage for the student， fully arouse the enthusiasm of the student， let the student talk.Let the student talk the method of learning， talk what he has got， talk his understanding and comprehending， talk his experience， talk what puzzles him.The teacher can both fully understand the students state of thought and “teaching benefits teachers as well as students” in this way.In discussion， the teacher should organize it meticulously， do the careful arrangement、control the scene well and get hold of the direction.The teacher should be good at guiding， correct the one that deviate from the theme in time.The teacher should offer abundant affirmation to the students unique opinion.To the question with universality， the teacher should answer it on the spot.

3.Enlivening the atmosphere of the classroom， strengthening the sense of humor.

Practice indicates that peoples attention has restriction of time， because personal instruct adopts the form of more enlarged classes， it is relatively long， so the student often present“the attention crisis” in the course of listening to the teacher.The flavor and humor are psychological key element and important skill to regulate the students psychological mood， excite the students interest， and enliven the atmosphere； psychological key element and important skill are very important means to strengthen the sense of intimacy and harmonious degree.The teacher should be good at using typical case、historical allusion、anecdote、folk adage 、the person and the thing happening beside the student， explain the serious theory lively.The teacher should explain the abstruse reason by talking the profound in simple terms； make the student finish the task of learning among the comfy joyful frame of mind.

In one word， if you obey the several ways in the process of teaching， it will be helpful to improve the students enthusiasm in some degree.
