Recently, China Southern, together with WeChat, released the WeChat QR-Code Scanning service.Passengers can scan the code on their boarding pass with the WeChat QR-Code

Scanning function to get information on the status of their fl ights etc.Passengers departing from Guangzhou can also check the status of their checked baggage through WeChat scanning, and this service is being pioneered in China.

近日，南航與微信聯(lián)手推出登機(jī)牌條碼微信“掃一掃”功能。旅客掃一掃登機(jī)牌上的條碼，就能看到所乘坐航班的多項信息，給旅客提供更加便捷的電子化自助操作體驗。廣州出發(fā)的旅客還可通過此功能查詢自己的行李托運(yùn)狀態(tài)，此功能在國內(nèi)尚屬首創(chuàng)。

The statistics show that in 2016, China Southern transported around 280,000 passengers everyday, 40 percent of whom are accustomed to electronic Check-In.In order to provide a more convenient experience for passengers, China Southern, in cooperation with WeChat, released the boarding pass scanning service.

Once they get boarding passes, passengers can scan the code below, and quickly get updates and information on fl ights.Information available includes: scheduled departure time, boarding time, time of arrival, boarding gate, the weather in the place of departure and arrival, and so on.

This service can also be used to check the status of passengers' checked baggage, and the status can be detailed to spec ifi c procedures such as accepting and loading.This service has been pioneered by China Southern, and while it's only currently available in Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, it will soon be rolled out to other airports.

Passengers can track the status of their baggage just like tracking parcels in the post.

The “Internet + Boarding Pass” Idea

According to the project director, this service works by linking WeChat with China Southern's systems.WeChat QR-Code Scanning works only as the messenger for this information, pulling it directly from China Southern's systems, ensuringit's accurate and ef fi cient.It also means that passenger's personal information is kept secure.What's more, the service also adopts the idea“Internet+Boarding Pass” to provide a more convenient self-service for the passengers.This function will be further developed in the future.For instance, in a VIP Lounge, passengers can be linked to W ifi automatically.Moreover, if a passenger wants to become a member of Skypearl Club, the information will be immediately generated by scanning the code on the boarding pass in the future, saving them time. When passengers are faced with fl ight delays, they can also use the QR service as electronic proof in future for quicker service during the ticket refund or alteration process.

自動鏈接上貴賓休息室的Wi-Fi。

2.if a passenger wants to become a member of Skypearl Club, the information will be immediately generated by scanning the code on the boarding pass.

想加入南航明珠會員的旅客，掃碼后個人信息就會自動輸入系統(tǒng)，可節(jié)省錄入時間。

3.When passengers are faced with flight delays, they can also use the QR service as electronic proof in future for quicker service during the ticket refund or alteration process.當(dāng)旅客遇上航班臨時延誤，未來也可通過該功能自助提取航班延誤證明，為辦理客票退改簽提供便利。
