Bob Dylan has been awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature for what the Swedish Academy said was the 75-year-old songwriter’s role in “creating new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition”. Since its inception, the committee has rarely strayed outside the world of literature in awarding the prize.Perhaps the most surprising choice before Dylan was the 1953 choice of Sir Winston Churchill for his work in the field of history. The citation said the award was for his mastery of historical and biographical description as well as for brilliant oratory in defending exalted human values.
Airlines will have the right to operate more than twice as many weekly services as at present between the UK and China .The deal, agreed between representatives of the two governments, will increase the maximum number of weekly flights between the two countries to 200, from 80 at present. The rise was made possible after the two sides agreed to modify their bilateral aviation agreement, which had previously not only limited the number of flights each week but dictated that any UK airline could serve a maximum of six separate China destinations. The new deal discards those limits, giving UK airlines the right to operate to anywhere in China.
