Kelly：Im Kelly. I like joking.

Bill：Im Bill. Im 11 years old. Im incorrigible！

Maria：“Incorrigible”？

I think it means you wont be treated like a boy.

Daisy：Im Daisy. Im going to be 9 years old. And I like pink.

Maria：Pink is my favorite color too.

Kurt：Im Kurt. Im 7. Im smart.

（The youngest daughter stamped her feet. She looked angry.）

Maria：Yes，you are Emily.

（Emily nodded.）

Maria：And you are 5 years old？

（Emily nodded again.）

Maria：You are really a lady.

（Emily giggled.）

Maria：Now I have to tell you a secret. Ive never been a governess.

Daisy：You mean you dont know anything about being a governess？

Maria：Yes，nothing.

Lisa：Well，let us teach you. The best way to start is to tell father to mind his own business.

Nick：You must never come to dinner on time.

Bill：Never eat your soup quietly.

Nick：Lets go！

Emily：Dont believe a word they say，Maria.

Maria：Oh，why not？

Emily：Because I like you.

（The children were going away. Suddenly，they heard Maria cry. Maria threw out a spider from her pocket. The Captain was disturbed and he came out.）

Captain：Whats the matter with you？

（The children stopped and peeped at Maria. They were afraid of being punished by their father because they put the spider into Marias pocket.）

Maria：Nothing，nothing is wrong.

（Captain left and his children were in relief.）

Captain：Maria ... Maria ...

Maria：Yes，sir？

Captain：Im leaving for a week. You should be strict with the children，and remember，discipline is the most important.

Maria：Yes，sir！

剛來上校家不久，Maria 就遭遇了孩子們的惡作劇，不過她并沒有因此生氣、告狀。上校要離開一周，Maria將如何和這群調(diào)皮的孩子相處呢？下集敬請期待！
