Tiny Flower
By cervaadr,St.Peters, MO
I noticed it one day when I was walking home
A tiny flower
It had pushed its way through the cracks
Red petals against the dirty gray gravel
I stepped over it and kept on going
I didn't stop to consider what that tiny flower had been through
A dog had sniffed it
A toddler pulled on its leaves
It had endured storms
Raindrops had weighed down its petals
But it was still here
We don't realize they have pushed their way through the cracks of a tough world
It only takes a moment to notice something as small as a tiny red flower

endprint
