Kite-flying is one of the most popular traditional sports in China. In warm spring, kites of many colors fly up and down while the kite strings（線）give out a sound like the zheng in the wind. That’s why their Chinese name is feng-zheng.

Traditionally, Beijing, Tianjin, and Weifang in Shandong Province（省）have been well known（出名的）for their kites. The Beijing kites are made in an imperial（皇家的）style（風(fēng)格）, the Tianjin kites are small and exquisite（精致的）, and the kites of Weifang painted in rich（豐富的）colors. The Weifang International（國際的）Kite Festival takes place（舉行）in April each year.

Kites were used to drive off（驅(qū)除）bad luck（運(yùn)氣）. Now kite-flying has become a popular activity（活動(dòng)）in China. It is great fun to fly a kite on a windy day.
