I am chairwoman of the Denmark-China Friendship Association. As a friend of China for more than 40 years, I have been reading your magazine since way back when it was China Reconstructs! Through the years, it has become better and better, and I see it as an invaluable source for solid knowledge about China. Our association launched a competition for students in Rordjylland, one of the five regions of Denmark, this spring. The region was selected because in it is the city of Aarhus, chosen as site of the European Capital of Culture for 2017, and the city of Aarhus and Central Denmark Region are the two partners in the Cultural Capital. The theme of the Cultural Capital is “Lets Rethink.” To widen the scope, we, in cooperation with Central Denmark Region, invited all students in the region – around 137,000 – to participate in our competition “Rethink China.” Our Chinese partner is the Chinese Peoples Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries who helped us organize the prizes. The Chinese embassy in Copenhagen is helping us as well. We are building a web page for the competition and some of the materials on your website are very interesting and useful for us. Thanks for your reports online that help us to know more about todays China.

I am the editor of Women magazine. After reading the article in your magazines April issue entitled “Rural Chinese Girl Speaks to the World,”I was deeply moved by the girl Ma Feng, born in an underdeveloped rural village in northwest Chinas Gansu Province. Now working with a private equity fund in Shanghai, she will further her studies in the U.K. I have to say that most women readers can strongly empathize with the unremitting efforts she made to struggle with her fate. If a woman is well-educated, her offspring will definitely pursue an education, which can help to alleviate poverty and build a harmonious society. That is what Ching Tien, the founder of Educating Girls of Rural China and also the sponsor of Ma Fengs university education, teaches us. I would like to say “bravo” to the two excellent women, Ching Tien and Ma Feng, who both encourage us never to stop exploring our potential and fulfilling our dreams.
