Add Feet to His Snake

One day three men got a bottle of wine. But the wine was not enough for the three and each of them wanted to drink the wine alone. Then they all agreed that they each would draw a snake on the ground and the one who first finished drawing would be given the wine. So they began to draw on the ground with sticks.

It was not long before one of the three finished drawing his snake. He took up the bottle of wine with pride. He was about to drink when he found the other two were still busy with their drawings. “How slow you are！” said he， “I can even add feet to my snake before you finish yours.” He put down the bottle and began to add feet to his snake. But before he finished， another man took hold of the bottle and said，“Ive finished. Snakes have no feet， so yours is not a snake.” With these words he drank up the wine.

The most unforgettable person in my life

When I was in high school， one of my classmates sit right beside me. His name is ChenLiang. He is my unforgettable person in my life.

I remembered my mathematics was just mediocre at that time， but he was extraordinary and excellent in calculating and solving mathematic questions. He often received perfect scores. Of course， I wished I could reach at his level. Since we talked all day long， I asked how he could solve those difficult questions. He was so patient and polite to answer my sometimes ridiculous thinking. Gradually， I built my confidence at mathematics and finally passed the college entrance exam.

Now， we are apart， but I still remember his great attitude and willing in study. I am so obliged to my classmate， who is my friend always and forever.

Fighting Criminals

Today the crime rate in soe cities of our country is rising. Many citizens often complain about the thefts and robberies that have taken palce in the areas they live in and appeal to the governments at all levels to take effective measures to reduce the crime rate. Faced with criminals， some people are so frightened that they shamelessly give up the fight and other people turn a blind eye to them. However， some people are brave enough， to risk their lives to fight the criminals. Their fearless actions prevented the criminals from doing evils， saved the victims， and protected the public properties. To reduce the crime rate， we all the people should first receive a law education. Criminals must be severely punished. Meanwhile we should set up a foundation to reward those who fight criminals. It is also important to call on people to learn from those heroes and encourage more people to stand up to crime.

Let Me Do It Myself， Will You？

Xiao Hong is going to learn to ride bicycles. She is on the bike and ready to ride when her father， mother and grandmother come and help her. Her father holds one handle of the bike， and her mother holds the other， with a first-aid box on the shoulder. Her grandmother holds the back seat tightly. They are all wet with sweat. However， the bike is being moved not by Xiao Hong herself but by her parents and grandmother. “Let me do it myself， will you？” says Xiao Hong to them. From this picture， we can see how much the parents care for the children. In my opinion， it is right that parents should take care of their children. But as children， we need the chance to learn and practice some skills by ourselves. We need to grow up independently. Let us do it ourselves.

An Experience in Examination

Talking of examinations， I feel that they are one of the important activities in school life. Since the first day I went to school， I have had to deal with them almost every day. All through my secondary school days， I have gone through al kinds of exams， entrance exams， tests， quizzes and so on. I have tasted the flavour of happiness， sadness and laughter.

Before every exam， there is always a certain time for me to suffer. The world before me seems to be sad and gloomy. I feel that all my books are disgusting. During examinations， I am always like a ?computer. I try hard to squeeze out every piece of information to answer my questions. A machine has no feelings， but I am nervous， my heart beats hard.

After the “swesty battle”， the world seems to be bright again. A disaster is over. I become lively again， and begin to discuss every problem with my classmates.

蘑菇與毒菌

Younger Scout： How can I tell the difference between a mushroom and a toadstool（毒菌） ？Older Scout： Just eat one before you go to bed. If you wake up the next morning， it was a mushroom.

年少的童子軍：我怎樣才能把蘑菇和毒蕈區(qū)別開呢？年長的童子軍：上床前吃一個(gè)。如果你第二天早上醒來，那就是蘑菇。
