一、教材分析
牛津初中英語(yǔ)八(上)第四單元以介紹野生動(dòng)物及保護(hù)野生動(dòng)物為中心話題。而本課作為本單元的最后一個(gè)課時(shí),主要是進(jìn)一步幫助學(xué)生掌握條件狀語(yǔ)從句以及because和because of的用法,復(fù)習(xí)表示野生動(dòng)物的詞匯,并對(duì)本單元進(jìn)行綜合復(fù)習(xí),進(jìn)一步激發(fā)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)興趣和保護(hù)野生動(dòng)物的意識(shí)。
二、學(xué)情分析
經(jīng)過(guò)初一的學(xué)習(xí),初二大部分學(xué)生能利用已學(xué)的英語(yǔ)知識(shí)進(jìn)行簡(jiǎn)單交流。經(jīng)過(guò)本單元前幾課時(shí)的學(xué)習(xí),學(xué)生對(duì)野生動(dòng)物這個(gè)話題的相關(guān)詞匯也有了一定的積累。本課的授課對(duì)象為宜興外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)校的學(xué)生,英語(yǔ)基礎(chǔ)好,理解能力和開口能力也強(qiáng)。結(jié)合這些實(shí)際,筆者以創(chuàng)設(shè)情景、合作學(xué)習(xí)模式展開教學(xué)活動(dòng)。希望完成本課時(shí)教材知識(shí)學(xué)習(xí)的同時(shí),學(xué)生的團(tuán)隊(duì)合作精神、共同探索能力也可以進(jìn)一步得到提高。
三、設(shè)計(jì)思想
筆者遵循任務(wù)性教學(xué)的原則來(lái)設(shè)計(jì)各項(xiàng)語(yǔ)言實(shí)踐活動(dòng),創(chuàng)設(shè)真實(shí)環(huán)境,讓學(xué)生利用所學(xué)知識(shí)解決實(shí)際問(wèn)題,采用情景教學(xué)法、游戲教學(xué)法、競(jìng)賽法、合作學(xué)習(xí)法等多種教學(xué)方法。主要流程:導(dǎo)入——拯救熊貓“希望”——討論保護(hù)“野生虎”。
四、教學(xué)目標(biāo)
1.通過(guò)復(fù)述法、游戲法,學(xué)生能復(fù)習(xí)、鞏固與動(dòng)物有關(guān)的詞匯和短語(yǔ)。
2.通過(guò)練習(xí)法、競(jìng)賽法,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生將名詞歸類的意識(shí)。
3.通過(guò)討論法、歸納法,學(xué)生能進(jìn)一步掌握條件狀語(yǔ)從句以及because和because of的用法。
4.通過(guò)情景教學(xué)法、小組合作法,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生團(tuán)隊(duì)合作意識(shí),鍛煉其與他人協(xié)作的能力。
5.通過(guò)對(duì)野生動(dòng)物瀕臨的危險(xiǎn)和保護(hù)措施的討論,學(xué)生能提升保護(hù)動(dòng)物意識(shí)。
五、教學(xué)準(zhǔn)備
知識(shí)層面準(zhǔn)備:構(gòu)思拯救熊貓“希望”的情景,把教材內(nèi)容、復(fù)習(xí)回顧、游戲有機(jī)地組合在一起;創(chuàng)作閱讀材料“野生虎”,并精心設(shè)計(jì)聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、讀、寫各項(xiàng)拓展活動(dòng)。
課件準(zhǔn)備:上網(wǎng)搜索圖片、背景音樂(lè),制作多媒體課件。
六、教學(xué)過(guò)程
Step1 Lead-in.
T: Yixing is famous for its bamboos.Theres a beautiful park with many bamboos in Yixing. Do you know it? (Bamboo Sea.)

設(shè)計(jì)意圖:通過(guò)學(xué)校的竹,引出宜興竹海,把學(xué)生帶入一個(gè)輕松、熟悉的氛圍,并完成本課時(shí)的導(dǎo)入。
Step2 Saving Xi Wang.
1.Present Xi Wang.
T: In the park, there is a lovely giant panda. Shes Xi Wang. What is she eating? (Bamboos.)Unluckily, some hunters found Xi Wang. They caught her. Xi Wang is in danger now. Do you want to save her? But the forest is so big with four directions. Where is Xi Wang? In the north, south, west or east? Lets try to find her.

2.Ask Ss to introduce the growth of Xi Wang. (North)
T: Is Xi Wang in the north? We should introduce the growth of Xi Wang first.
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:引導(dǎo)學(xué)生回顧、復(fù)述“希望”的成長(zhǎng)史,檢測(cè)、復(fù)習(xí)本單元重點(diǎn)的閱讀部分。
3.Ask Ss to say the wild animals. (South)
T: Is Xi Wang in the south? We should say these wild animals first. Do you remember them?Boys and girls, lets have a competition. Who can say the wild animals faster?
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:采用男、女生競(jìng)賽的方式,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生復(fù)習(xí)本單元?jiǎng)游锩Q,并進(jìn)一步激活課堂。
4.Ask Ss to finish Exercise B (Word groups), check the answers and fill in the blanks. (West)
T: Is Xi Wang in the west? We should finish the exercise first.
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:檢測(cè)學(xué)生對(duì)本單元詞匯掌握情況的同時(shí),培養(yǎng)學(xué)生對(duì)名詞分類的意識(shí)。并在教材練習(xí)的基礎(chǔ)上,有所拓展,讓學(xué)生在具體的語(yǔ)境中運(yùn)用這些詞匯,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的句群意識(shí)。
5. Ask Ss to finish Exercise A (A short test), check the answers and sum up. (East)
T: Is Xi Wang in the east? We should finish the exercise first.
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:檢測(cè)學(xué)生對(duì)本單元語(yǔ)法條件狀語(yǔ)從句以及because和because of的掌握情況,鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生討論、歸納相關(guān)用法,促進(jìn)學(xué)生的理解,為后面討論保護(hù)野生老虎做好鋪墊,完成語(yǔ)法知識(shí)的積累。
6.Conclusion.
T: We saved Xi Wang. She is safe now. Well done!
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:讓學(xué)生猜測(cè)“希望”在森林中可能所在的方位,根據(jù)四個(gè)方位設(shè)計(jì)四個(gè)環(huán)節(jié),有學(xué)習(xí),有游戲,讓學(xué)生在興趣中學(xué),收獲知識(shí)的同時(shí),體會(huì)救出“希望”的喜悅。
Step3 Wild tigers.
1.Present ‘Wild tigers in danger.
T: Xi Wang is safe now. Unluckily, therere also many other wild animals in danger. Do you know them? (Wild tigers.)

設(shè)計(jì)意圖:通過(guò)一系列圖片引出“野生老虎”這個(gè)話題,直觀呈現(xiàn)其惡劣的生存現(xiàn)狀,殘酷的照片能再次激起學(xué)生的正義感和興趣。設(shè)計(jì)了一篇主題為“野生老虎”的閱讀材料,在此基礎(chǔ)上,開展各項(xiàng)拓展延伸活動(dòng)。
2.Ask Ss to listen to the text twice (T or F questions) and check the answers.
T: Lets listen to a short passage about Wild tigers. Try to tell me if all the information is right.Before listening, go through these sentences in one minute.

設(shè)計(jì)意圖:讓學(xué)生通過(guò)聽(tīng)的方式,判斷信息的正誤,進(jìn)一步了解野生老虎的信息和生存現(xiàn)狀,訓(xùn)練聽(tīng)的同時(shí),為下面的讀、討論做好準(zhǔn)備。
3.Ask Ss to read the text carefully and silently and try to get the all details.
T: Do you want to know more about wild tigers? Read the passage silently and carefully in five minutes. And try to remember as much information as you can.Times up. Try to answer my questions without looking at your paper.
Qs: (1) Do wild tigers have the brightest eyes of all the animals in the world? (Yes, they do.)
(2) Can wild tigers hide themselves in the forests easily? Why? (Yes, they can. Because they have yellow fur and black stripes.)
(3) How much meat does a wild tiger eat every day? (Three kilograms.)
(4) When will wild tigers hurt people? (They are sick and old.)
(5) Why do hunters kill wild tigers? (Because they like their fur and want to make medicine from their bones.)
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:讓學(xué)生對(duì)材料進(jìn)行精讀,要求學(xué)生在規(guī)定的時(shí)間內(nèi),記住盡可能多的信息,然后脫離材料,直接回答老師的問(wèn)題,訓(xùn)練閱讀,更培養(yǎng)記信息、聽(tīng)問(wèn)題的能力,具有一定難度和挑戰(zhàn)。設(shè)計(jì)的問(wèn)題有易有難,主要圍繞野生老虎的外貌、性格、食物、面臨的危險(xiǎn)來(lái)設(shè)計(jì)。
4.Ask Ss to read through fast and discuss with partners to get the main ideas of each paragraph.
T: Read fast again and discuss in pairs. Try to find main ideas of each paragraph.(Para 1: Appearance and living areas. Para 2: Ability, character and food. Para 3: Danger.)
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:讓學(xué)生再讀文章,理清文章思路,并通過(guò)討論,歸納文章每一段的大意,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的合作、歸納能力以及語(yǔ)篇意識(shí)。
Step4 Discussion.
1.Present the ‘The Global Tiger Summit.
T: Wild tiger are in danger now. They only live in 13 countries in the whole world. Do you think we should do something to help them?Theres a summit about wild tigers in Russia. People are talking about how to protect wild tigers.

2.Group Ss into groups of four and have a discussion about ‘How to protect wild tigers.
T: Suppose were the students who are attending the meeting. Work in groups of four.Think about ‘How to protect wild tiger. Choose one of you to make a report for the whole group. Try to use ‘if, ‘because, ‘because of in your report.

3.Ask some representatives to make a report.
T: Which group can give us a report?
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:預(yù)設(shè)情景,讓學(xué)生代表在老虎峰會(huì)上做小組發(fā)言,用英語(yǔ)進(jìn)行發(fā)言,考驗(yàn)學(xué)生的英語(yǔ)運(yùn)用能力,更考驗(yàn)學(xué)生的勇氣,將整堂課推向一個(gè)高潮,發(fā)言學(xué)生能體驗(yàn)成功的快樂(lè),所在組的成員也能感受、分享成功的快樂(lè)。
Step5 Summary & Homework.
T: Im happy to see so many good reporters on our class. Many groups did very good jobs. Wild animals are our friends. Remember to love wild animals! Thats love ourselves! Heres your homework.
以Wild tigers為題,為野生動(dòng)物俱樂(lè)部寫一篇報(bào)道。要點(diǎn)如下:
1.外貌:體形龐大,眼睛明亮,黃色皮毛,帶有黑色條紋。2.習(xí)性:擅長(zhǎng)游泳,奔跑速度極快,容易捕食其他動(dòng)物。3.困境:農(nóng)民不斷占用它們的自然保護(hù)區(qū);獵人經(jīng)常為了得到虎皮而獵殺它們;如果我們?cè)俨槐Wo(hù)它們,世界上將不會(huì)再有野生老虎存在。4.行動(dòng):我覺(jué)得可以采取以下措施幫助它們……
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:課堂結(jié)尾升華“愛(ài)動(dòng)物”的主題。課后任務(wù)的布置,讓學(xué)生以‘Wild tigers為題,為野生動(dòng)物俱樂(lè)部寫一篇報(bào)道,根據(jù)中考寫作的要求,采用根據(jù)要點(diǎn)進(jìn)行寫作的方式,讓學(xué)生通過(guò)寫,將本節(jié)課所學(xué)的知識(shí)進(jìn)行深化。
