本文巧用對(duì)比,圍繞巨人對(duì)待小孩前后態(tài)度的變化,花園景色一波三折變化的前后對(duì)比,孩子們對(duì)待巨人態(tài)度變化的前后原因?qū)Ρ龋瑥亩r明地表達(dá)出中心思想:自私是要不得的。作者在語(yǔ)言運(yùn)用方面,對(duì)動(dòng)詞的推敲和妙用,使得文章的主題入木三分。
第一自然段作者用出神入化的動(dòng)詞和句子描繪了一幕非常美妙的景象,襯托出孩子們對(duì)花園的眷戀。

第二自然段當(dāng)巨人看到被冰雪覆蓋的銷聲匿跡的花園隨著更多的孩子們從墻上的一個(gè)洞里鉆進(jìn)來(lái),美妙的春天又回來(lái)了。隨著花園景色的變化,巨人冰冷的心融化了,他下決心要拆掉墻,但是孩子們對(duì)巨人的態(tài)度并未改變。

第三自然段顯示巨人態(tài)度的變化從對(duì)待一個(gè)小男孩開(kāi)始,當(dāng)孩子們正玩得盡興的時(shí)候,他們突然看見(jiàn)了巨人,其他的孩子都跑掉了,只有一個(gè)孩子沒(méi)跑,作者用了一個(gè)詞“But”,花園里出現(xiàn)了什么樣的場(chǎng)面?作者設(shè)下懸念,讀者會(huì)迫不及待地讀下去。But one little boy did ?not because he did not see the giant.這個(gè)小男孩正在干什么?He was trying to reach up to the spreading branches of a tree.這句中的正盡力,說(shuō)明小男孩被大自然的美景所陶醉。正在伸展開(kāi)的,說(shuō)明樹(shù)的繁茂,小男孩在這樣美妙的景色中盡情地玩耍,多么愉快!這些細(xì)節(jié)描寫渲染了氣氛,為巨人態(tài)度的變化做了鋪墊。突然,兇惡的巨人出現(xiàn),但出人意料,巨人這次突然改變了形象,哪個(gè)詞突現(xiàn)了他的改變?”gently”一詞與前面的”in a loud voice”, “Children were so scared, were so frightened and they ran away.”形成強(qiáng)烈的反差。
當(dāng)巨人把小男孩用手輕輕地拖起,放到迎風(fēng)舒展的樹(shù)枝上,小男孩伸出雙臂,摟住巨人的脖子,親吻了巨人,邪惡變成了溫存。At the giant took him gently in his hand, and put him up into the tree. The little boy stretched out with his arms, put them around the giants neck and kissed him.

在這春色迷人的花園里,當(dāng)其他的孩子們跑出花園后,因?yàn)樾∧泻](méi)跑,所以他們?cè)诨▓@外面偷偷地看,看見(jiàn)了什么呢?看見(jiàn)巨人不在邪惡情景,其他的小孩子們也跑進(jìn)來(lái)了,又為春意盎然的美好景象增添了活力!巨人醒悟,拿起斧子砍掉了墻。
When the other children saw the giant was no longer wicked, they came running back. Along with them came the spring. “It is your garden now, little children,” said the giant as he took his great axe and knocked down the wall. Ever since then, the giants garden has been a childrens playground.
總之,作者運(yùn)用襯托,鋪墊,設(shè)懸念,對(duì)比,渲染氣氛等手法把主題表現(xiàn)得淋漓盡致,使得讀者身臨其境,回味無(wú)窮。
