The route started at Chang 'an （located near modem Xi'an in Shaanxi Province），passed through the Hexi Corridor and the South and North Tianshan Mountains. and crossed Central Asia to Persia and Rome.Camel bells of thousand years have been constantly telling the stories about friendly ties and mutual benefits between people inbusy commerce and trade.

Now， more than two thousand years later， the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 2lst-Century Maritime Silk Road （the Beltand Road） are opening a new chapter based on the past thousand years of friendship.
