看上去似乎很繞口的一個句子。你理解這句話嗎？

這句話從語義層面和語言層面來講都有很重要的意義。從語義的層面，就是希望人們都不要生病。而在語言的層面，則涉及了go to hospital 和 go to the hospital的區(qū)別。

So do you know the difference between “go to the hospital” and “go to hospital” ？

go to the hospital 意思是“去醫(yī)院”。醫(yī)生去醫(yī)院上班，工人去醫(yī)院維修設(shè)備都可以用這個詞組。但是，如果是go to hospital ，那么一般就是不想看到的事情發(fā)生了——生病了。這個詞組的意思是“住院看病”！

我們都希望一生都不要go to hospital。但是，人吃五谷雜糧，不生病幾乎是不可能的，只要生病了就非得去醫(yī)院不可。現(xiàn)在咱們中國的醫(yī)療技術(shù)和醫(yī)療條件都有了長足的進步，一般情況下，看病就醫(yī)還是比較方便的。但在國外看病非常麻煩。所以，如果我們要臨時出國，最好自己多備點常用藥，不要和國外的醫(yī)院和醫(yī)生打交道。

如果去國外旅游突然生病，不是很嚴(yán)重，可以去附近的drugstore（兼售化妝品等的藥房）或pharmacy（藥店;藥房）買常用的藥物。如果需要，可以找他們店內(nèi)的醫(yī)生。一般情況下，稍微大點的藥店有定時的醫(yī)生坐堂診療。如果吃藥不行，可以先去街道或附近的clinic（診所）。如果比較嚴(yán)重的話，就要去醫(yī)院（hospital）。在國外的醫(yī)院看病非常麻煩，我們最好不要去：Never go to hospital！

但是，如果真的在國外需要就醫(yī)，就一定要提前了解國外就醫(yī)的一些程序和用語，否則真的會讓你崩潰！我們要懂得一些診所、藥店和醫(yī)院的基本術(shù)語，要知道哪里可以看病，哪里可以買藥，到了醫(yī)院要走什么樣的手續(xù)，以及要知道怎么表述自己的癥狀。

1.醫(yī)院問詢 （arriving at the hospital）

Patient：Hello. 你好。

Nurse：Hi. How may I help you？ 你好，有什么可以幫你的嗎？

Patient：I'd like to see the doctor. I'm having a flu， a sore throat and a terrible headache. 我想要看醫(yī)生。我得了流感，喉嚨痛，頭也特別痛。

Nurse：You'll have to register at the counter first and then get a seat and wait for your turn. 你要先去柜臺掛號，然后找個座位坐著等輪到你再看醫(yī)生。

Patient：Alright. Sure. How long will I have to wait to see the doctor？ 好的，請問我要等多久呢？

Nurse：Hmm... You'll have to wait till your name is called out， depending on the number of patients ahead of you. 嗯……你要等到喊你的名字就好了，這取決于你前面還有多少人在排隊。

Patient：Alright， there are only three patients ahead of me. I guess 30 minutes will be enough. Thanks. 好的，我前面只有3個人，我猜大概30分鐘吧。謝謝。

Nurse：No problem. Get well soon. 沒問題，祝你早日康復(fù)。

2.在診療室 （in consultation room ）

Doctor：Hi. Take a seat. What's the matter？ 你好，請坐，請問哪里不舒服呢？

Patient：Hi， doctor. I'm having symptoms like flu， sore throat and terrible headache for the past week. 你好，醫(yī)生，我有流感、喉嚨痛和頭痛的癥狀已經(jīng)一周了。

Doctor：Can I have a look？ Where does it hurt？Have you taken some medicine yet？ 我能看看嗎？你哪里痛？你吃過藥嗎？

Patient：I took some antibiotics I got from over the counter five days ago. 五天前我在藥店拿了一點抗生素。

Doctor：Take off your clothes. I'll examine you. Let me take your pulse， temperature and blood pressure. 你脫掉衣服，我來檢查一下你的脈搏、體溫和血壓。

（few moments later 一會兒之后）

Doctor：Oops...your temperature is a bit high too... fever. Here， take this prescription， hand it over to the pharmacist and he will get you the drugs. 哎喲，你的體溫也有點偏高，發(fā)燒。來，拿著這個處方，去找藥劑師拿藥。

Pharmacist：Here is your medicine， two pills a day after meals. And then if your symptoms are not getting better， I suggest you go to the hospital for a check？鄄up. 這是你的藥，每日飯后兩片。如果癥狀還不減輕，我建議你去醫(yī)院做個檢查。

Patient：Thank you Doc！ 謝謝你醫(yī)生！

Pharmacist：My pleasure！ Get well soon！ 不用謝！祝你早日康復(fù)！
