一位本溪的朋友這樣介紹他的家鄉(xiāng)，“本溪是個(gè)適合賣呆的好地方”，這里山清水秀，是天然氧吧；一位驢友說本溪是戶外運(yùn)動愛好者的首選地，這里多山多水，風(fēng)景怡人。然而，這里更適合去聽，去聽本溪的一草一木、一山一水間深藏的那些故事——

廟后山古人類遺址，距今15萬至50萬年前中國最靠東北部的一處舊石器時(shí)代早期的洞穴遺址。

五女山山城，高句麗建國初期所創(chuàng)建的第一座都城，這里的王宮、兵營、糧倉、天池等遺址，歷經(jīng)2000多年風(fēng)雨滄桑，令人撫今追昔，感慨萬千。

九頂鐵剎山，“千年鐵剎聚仙地，東北道教第一山”，因道家居山建廟，廟稱古剎，取“三三見九、天作之祥”之意，故而得名。

南天門，這里曾經(jīng)是愛國主義教育影片《英雄兒女》《奇襲》《鐵血大動脈》等的主要拍攝基地。
