2019年10月13日國(guó)家主席習(xí)近平在加德滿都同尼泊爾總理奧利會(huì)談。奧利表示，尼方堅(jiān)定支持中國(guó)維護(hù)主權(quán)和領(lǐng)土完整，堅(jiān)定奉行一個(gè)中國(guó)原則，堅(jiān)決反對(duì)也決不允許任何勢(shì)力利用尼泊爾領(lǐng)土從事反華分裂活動(dòng)。習(xí)近平強(qiáng)調(diào)，“任何人企圖在中國(guó)任何地區(qū)搞分裂，結(jié)果只能是粉身碎骨;任何支持分裂中國(guó)的外部勢(shì)力只能被中國(guó)人民視為癡心妄想！”

對(duì)習(xí)近平主席的表態(tài)，外媒普遍譯成：Anyone attempting to split China in any part of the country will end in crushed bodies and shattered bones. 例如：

2019年10月14日英國(guó)《衛(wèi)報(bào)》（The Guardian）載文說(shuō)：Anyone attempt-ing to split China in any part of the country will end in crushed bodies and shattered bones，” Xi Jinping said in a meeting with leaders during a visit to Nepal on Sunday， according to Chinas state broadcaster， CCTV.

2019年10月15日美國(guó)之音（VOA，The Voice of America）說(shuō)：On a visit this week to Nepal， Chinese President Xi Jinping said anyone attempting to split China “will end in crushed bodies and shattered bones.”

這里的“粉身碎骨”，外媒直譯為crushed bodies and shattered bones，這種譯法非常直白。而新華社英文稿則展現(xiàn)出些許委婉格調(diào)，只用了一個(gè)詞一筆帶過(guò)，減少視覺沖擊力：（Anyone attempting… will be） crushed。此處的crush義為“壓碎”。

關(guān)于“粉身碎骨”，還有兩種譯法。一種更直白，更血腥：be chopped up for mincemeat，字面意思是“剁成碎肉”。另一種則盡顯悲壯氣息，甚至有點(diǎn)兒浪漫：deserve to die a thousand deaths，即“應(yīng)該死去一千回”。當(dāng)然，在愛情小說(shuō)里，如果男主人翁說(shuō)“For the sake of love， I would die a thousand deaths.”（為了愛而粉身碎骨。），聽上去倒是一點(diǎn)兒也不覺得血腥，反而感覺很有癡情漢的浪漫情調(diào)。在此類語(yǔ)境中倘若用crushed bodies and shattered bones的說(shuō)法，可能會(huì)把姑娘給嚇跑了。規(guī)而不拘，譯無(wú)定法，全看譯者的取舍標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，同時(shí)也得考量具體語(yǔ)境及對(duì)方的感受程度，一般不主張一字一詞的對(duì)等直譯。

中文成語(yǔ)“粉身碎骨”源于唐朝蔣防《霍小玉傳》：“平生志愿，今日獲從，粉骨碎身，誓不相舍?！苯忉尀椤叭矸鬯椤?，多指為了達(dá)到某種目的而不惜犧牲生命，也可比喻遭到徹底失敗或遭遇極大的磨難。例如：如果戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)狂人膽敢輕舉妄動(dòng)，發(fā)動(dòng)戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)，結(jié)果必然會(huì)被壓在大山底下，弄得粉身碎骨。（楊朔《東風(fēng)第一枝》）英語(yǔ)可譯成smash body into powder and break the bones into pieces。

《漢英大詞典》《柯林斯高階英漢雙解學(xué)習(xí)詞典》等對(duì)“粉身碎骨”的英語(yǔ)解釋也有七八種，其實(shí)是大同小異的：be smashed to pieces、be beaten till ones bones are broken、be dashed [hacked] to pieces、be crushed to powder、grind someones bones to powder and make mincemeat of ones flesh、have ones body pounded to pieces、die the cruelest death等。

而網(wǎng)絡(luò)上對(duì)“粉身碎骨”的翻譯也就更多樣了，而且不乏委婉達(dá)意的譯例，摘錄句酷批改網(wǎng)（jukuu）、英漢互譯網(wǎng)（www.yinghanhuyi.com）上的一些例句：

1. 唯一的問(wèn)題是：我什么時(shí)候會(huì)被炸得粉身碎骨？There is only the question： when will I be blown up？

2. 如果你已被炸得粉身碎骨，并弄丟了鋼盔，他們依然會(huì)給你寄賬單。If you get blown up and you lose your helmet， they still bill you.

3. 那只鳥粉身碎骨，成了幾根可憐的羽毛。The bird disintegrated into a few pathetic feathers.

4.看上去這飛機(jī)要粉身碎骨了。This plane feels like its gonna break apart.
