Student A: Hey, I have an idea. What about flying kites after school?
All: Hurray(太棒了)!

Student B: If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands!
All: (clap hands) Clap your hands!

Group 1: (stand forward) If you’re happy and you know it, stomp your feet(跺腳)!
All: (stomp feet) Stomp your feet!

Teacher: Keep quiet!
(All the students sit straight.)
Teacher: Unwilling to stay in the classroom? Let me ask you, what have we learnt today?
All:? Dawn of Spring(《春曉》).
Teacher: Can you recite?
All: Yes!
[Music: Dawn of Spring]
I wake up at the dawn of spring,
And hear the birds everywhere singing,
As sounded the wind and rain overnight,
I wonder how many blooms alight.
Teacher: Well done! Well done! Then I’m giving you a test. Can you tell us what you did today in this way?
Group 2: Sure! We can do it first!
[Music: South of the Yangtze River(《江南》)]
Jiangnan teems with lotus seeds,
How dense are the lotus leaves.
The fish play among the leaves,
The fish swim to the east,
The fish swim to the west,
The fish swim to the south,
The fish swim to the north.
Teacher: The fish play among the leaves? No, no, no. I think it’s you that play games and gather lotus(蓮花)!
All: Ha, ha...
Teacher: Who will be the next?
Student C: Me, me!
[Music: Mercy the Farmers(《憫農(nóng)》)]
Harvesting the crops at noon,
Sweat drips into the earth below.
Who knows that the feast in our plates,
Comes from such hard work.
Student D: Sir, he went to work in the fields.
Student C: I think we should save food, because farmers are very hard-working.
Teacher: Saving food is traditional Chinese virtue(中華民族的傳統(tǒng)美德). I’m very glad that you’ve learned it from this poem(詩) !
All: Good for you! (with thumbs up)
Student E: Sir, it’s my turn!

Goose! Goose! Goose!
Neck bent, honking to the sky,
White feathers floating on green water,
Paddling red feet making ripples so clear.

Teacher: My kids, whatever you want to do, don’t waste your time. The sage(圣賢) said:
Tomorrow comes and again comes tomorrow,
Tomorrow are like rivers that endless flow...
All: If all my things are pull off till tomorrow,
All: My time wasted to no purpose will brew woe.
Teacher: Good, boys and girls. Let’s call it a day. Have a good time!
