One day, Charlie Chaplin walked on the road with a bag in his hand. Suddenly, a robber jumped out from a bush. He pointed a gun at Chaplin.
“Hey, you! Stand there and give me your money!” shouted the robber.
“It’s not my money. I can give it to you,” said Chaplin. “But please give my hat two shots.” He took off his hat.
“Why?”asked the robber.
“Then I can tell the money’s owner what happened.”
Bang. Bang. The robber gave the hat two shots.
Then, Chaplin took off his coat.“Please give my coat two shots.”
Bang. Bang. The robber gave the coat two shots again.
Next, Chaplin pointed to his trousers. “And please give my trousers two shots.”
The robber got angry. But still, he gave the trousers two shots.
After six shots, there were no more bullets in the gun. Chaplin ran away as fast as he could. The robber stood still, open-mouthed.
