Can Animals Predict Earthquakes?

In nature， many animals have magical abilities. For example， many animals can sense earthquakes in advance.

Snakes can sense an earthquake up to five days before it occurs. They may come out from the caves in groups.

Dogs have a keen（靈敏的） sense of smell. Some people think that some gas emits（散發(fā)，釋放）from the ground before the earthquake. Dogs can smell the gas and sense the earthquake. They may bark and warn people.

Bats sleep in trees during the day and come out to hunt for food at night. They like to hunt in groups. Before the earthquake， a cloud of bats fly into the sky during the day.

Besides that， cats can sense the earthquake， too. The ears of cats are more sensitive（靈敏的） than our ears. They can detect（察覺） a wider range of vibration frequency（振動(dòng)頻率） than our ears. They can sense anomalies（反?，F(xiàn)象） before we can notice. They may become very mad.
