In the future where autonomous2 cars move on the busy roads，traffic lights might have a fourth color. It is used for the self-drivingcars. Researchers at North Carolina State University are proposing3 awhite traffic light. It would tell the drivers of autonomous cars whatto do. The thinking is that the traffic will go better and cars will useless oil.

The cars that are driving themselves wont need to“l(fā)ook”at thewhite traffic light， because theyll be“talking”with it wirelessly4.The white traffic light tells drivers and passengers5 that they shouldfollow the self-driving cars in front when going across the crossings.

Red lights still means stop. Green lights still means go. Yellow lightsstill means slow down. And white lights will tell the drivers to follow the carin front of them. Stop if it stops， go on if it goes on.
