The design of Fu Niu Lele derives (起源；引申于） its inspiration from the farming cultivation culture of ancient （古代的） Chinese civilization, and bears the following salient features（特征顯著）:

1. Showing the rich concept of the Beijing Paralympic Games. 詮釋出豐富的北京殘奧會理念和奧林匹克精神。

2. Embodying the harmony between man and nature. 體現人與自然的和諧共處。

3. Carrying rich national style and cultural features. 具有濃郁的民族風格和文化特色。

4. Cows are widely accepted internationally. 牛的形象在國際上具有廣泛認同性。

5. Commanding space for future designs and marketing. 具有廣闊的延展設計和市場開發(fā)空間。

相對于“奧運會”，了解“殘奧會”的人并不多。

“殘奧會”原是為“脊髓病患者”舉行的運動會，其相應的英文表達是：the Paralympic Games。很明顯，paralympic由詞綴para-(在……一旁，在……旁邊)和-(O)lympic(奧林匹克)合成而來，它延續(xù)了奧林匹克團結友愛、公平競爭的精神，同時又充分表達了奧運會和殘奧會平等共存的關系。

其次，順便再復習兩個以前學過的單詞：countdown(倒計時)；mascot(吉祥物)。
