主持人小語：Rome was not built in a day! 任何學(xué)科的學(xué)習(xí)都講究循序漸進、持之以恒，英語學(xué)習(xí)也不例外。不過跟理科講究天賦與悟性不同，語言學(xué)習(xí)更強調(diào)“語言積累”。同一道數(shù)學(xué)題讓老師給你講解一遍多半就夠了，但是同一篇美文讓發(fā)音地道的老外給你讀上十遍對你的影響和聽一遍肯定大不相同。因此多聽、多讀、多說、多寫是提高英語水平的必經(jīng)之路。你不必感到枯燥，因為每一遍都會帶來新的收獲。

小強博士 男，2001年畢業(yè)于上海外國語大學(xué)，獲文學(xué)博士學(xué)位；2007年赴英倫訪學(xué)，現(xiàn)就職于華中師范大學(xué)英語系。任教十余年來，始終對English teaching in secondary schools（中小學(xué)英語教學(xué)）抱有濃厚的興趣；赴英國訪學(xué)期間，更是通過實地參觀、訪問、旁聽等方式詳細(xì)了解了國外中小學(xué)英語教學(xué)的現(xiàn)狀。希望借助《中學(xué)生英語》與全國的英語愛好者，尤其是青少年朋友們交流。

What could you do?

*Help someone in your school with their study.

*Help out at your local （當(dāng)?shù)氐模?animal rescue centre （動物營救中心）.

*Set up your own initiatives, such as a “clean up rubbish” campaign （活動）.

What interests you?

Like sports? Why not help with an after school sports

club （課后運

動俱樂部）?

Like talking

to people? Why not

visit people at a local old peoples home（養(yǎng)老院）?

Like animals? Why not offer to walk with a neighbors （鄰居的） dog when you get home from school?

Like the outdoors? Why not help create a pond （池塘） or wildlife garden at school or in your community （社區(qū)）?

At times you need to “help yourself”.

During this summer vocation, you might have uttered （發(fā)出,作聲,發(fā)表）, “No ones around” or “Im bored （無聊的）. There is nothing to do.” Its time to “help yourself”.

Get out there and find everything interesting to do.

Do something new—visit a museum （博物館）, try different （不同的） food, learn （學(xué)習(xí)） a new skill.

Read something every day—fiction （小說）, biography （傳記）, articles （文章）, poetry （詩歌）, newspaper （報紙）.

There is no excuse （借口） for boredom （厭煩；厭倦）!
