①請(qǐng)求說話者再說一遍的正式用語,意為:我沒有聽清你說的話,請(qǐng)?jiān)僦貜?fù)一遍好嗎?(非正式用語為Beg pardon.或 Pardon. 美國用法是Pardon me?)
I beg your pardon!What did you say? I didn t catch it properly.
②可以表示道歉,相當(dāng)于I m sorry.
I accidentally(不小心)pushed Sam as I passed him, so I said to him, “I beg your pardon!”
③不同意對(duì)方說的話,認(rèn)為對(duì)方錯(cuò)了。
I beg your pardon, but what you re saying is the opposite(反面)of the truth.

①用于提出彬彬有禮的請(qǐng)求,意為“對(duì)不起”,“請(qǐng)勞駕”。

②表示某事不可信或不合理,意為“你看多奇怪”,“竟……”。

①等于Wait a moment. 等一等。同義語還有:one moment, half a moment, half a trick, just a second, just a tick等。

②用于想提出評(píng)論或反對(duì)的場(chǎng)合。(此時(shí)可用minute或second替換moment)
