6.How s that？

①用于征詢意見：“你認(rèn)為這個(gè)怎么樣？”

—There， the picture s on the wall. How s that？

—I don t think you ve got it quite straight（掛得不太直）.

②用于提出疑問：“為什么？”

—I m not sure I ll be able to come and visit you again.

—How s that？

7.I beg your pardon

①請(qǐng)求說話者再說一遍的正式用語，意為：我沒有聽清你說的話，請(qǐng)?jiān)僦貜?fù)一遍好嗎？（非正式用語為Beg pardon.或 Pardon. 美國用法是Pardon me？）

I beg your pardon！What did you say？ I didn t catch it properly.

②可以表示道歉，相當(dāng)于I m sorry.

I accidentally（不小心）pushed Sam as I passed him， so I said to him， “I beg your pardon！”

③不同意對(duì)方說的話，認(rèn)為對(duì)方錯(cuò)了。

I beg your pardon， but what you re saying is the opposite（反面）of the truth.

8.If you please.

①用于提出彬彬有禮的請(qǐng)求，意為“對(duì)不起”，“請(qǐng)勞駕”。

Step this way， ladies and gentlemen， if you please.

I will wash my hands（去洗手間）， if you please.

②表示某事不可信或不合理，意為“你看多奇怪”，“竟……”。

I want you to do it now， not tomorrow， if you please（真不像話）！

He crashed（撞）my car， and now， if you please， he makes me pay the repair bill（修理費(fèi)）.

9.Just a moment

①等于Wait a moment. 等一等。同義語還有：one moment， half a moment， half a trick， just a second， just a tick等。

Just a moment， please—I m still dealing with another customer（顧客） . I ll be with you in just a moment.

②用于想提出評(píng)論或反對(duì)的場(chǎng)合。（此時(shí)可用minute或second替換moment）

Just a moment！What about the plans for the other side of the building？

③用于表示吃驚或驚訝。

Just a moment！Aren t you the man we met on the train yesterday？

10.Thank you.

①當(dāng)接受禮物、服務(wù)或答謝表揚(yáng)等時(shí)表達(dá)感激之情。

—Thank you for coming！

—Don t mention it. Thanks for having（招待）us.

②用于接受或拒絕某人提供的招待或服務(wù)。

—Would you need my bike？

—Thank you. I can take a bus there.

③當(dāng)發(fā)布完通知后以示禮貌。

Please make sure（務(wù)必）you have all your belongs（東西）with you when you leave the train. Thank you.

④用于使某事停下來或讓某人離開。

Tyler was playing the piano in the music competition（比賽），“Thank you，”the judge （考官）called out，“I ve heard enough now.”

“Thank you， Wood， that s all（就這樣吧）！You may go now！

⑤用于表示高興、愉快或批評(píng)的話語之后。

Our football team is doing very well this season， thank you very much！

Leave my private life alone（別干預(yù)我的私生活）， thank you！

11.Wait a minute （moment， second）.

①不使他人久等。

Wait a minute， while I just find your record card（記錄卡）.

②欲提出建議或反對(duì)意見。

Wait a second！I ve got an idea.

Wait a moment！Don t we try that plan a few months ago and found it didn t work（不奏效）？
