As a former entertainer to the great Pharaohs3） of Egypt， Murray is extremely likable， boisterous4） and always the center of every party. Living most of the year deep inside an Egyptian tomb， every time he arrives at Drac's hotel， he is ready to party. He is a ball of fun， and uses humor to avoid confrontations5）， which he stays away from at all costs6）.

Sparky is the central figure of Tim Burton's 1984 live-action short Frankenweenie and the deuteragonist7） in its 2012 animated feature film of the same name. In both stories， Sparky dies， much to the sadness of his young owner， Victor， who proceeds to bring the little dog back to life in his makeshift8） laboratory. Sparky is a devoted and playful Bull Terrier9） whose sense of curiosity is matched only by Victor. Sparky enjoys chasing after balls and being the star of Victor's homemade movies. He exudes10） tons of energy and enthusiasm， which even his early death doesn't diminish.

Art is one of the tritagonists11） in Disney/Pixar's 2013 film， Monsters University. A furry purple monster with an arch shape and blue stripes on his body， he is a student at Monsters University， and a member of the Oozma Kappa fraternity12）. Art is considered to be a bit odd. He has a good heart， but is rather oblivious13） for the most part. He has many different interests， some of which nobody knows. In school， before becoming a Scaring major later on， he was a New Age Philosophy major. He's quite skilled at acrobatics14）， dancing and flexibility. He also apparently likes to keep a dream journal with him.

Jack Skellington， also known as the "Pumpkin King"， is the main protagonist of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack is a tall skeleton who wears a black pin-striped15） suit， complete with a bat bowtie. He has earned the title of Pumpkin King by being so terrifying to humans （but never harming them）， a clearly well-earned title as it appears he is even able to scare the monsters that occupy the town. He lives in Halloween Town， a world based solely on the holiday of Halloween. He is the most important of many Halloween spirits， with the implication16） that their job is to scare people in the real world on Halloween night， though all in innocent fun17）.

No-Face is a spirit in the Japanese animated film Spirited Away. He is shown to be capable of reacting to emotions and ingesting18） other individuals to gain their personality and physical traits. When first introduced， No-Face appeared semi-transparent while shifting in and out of visibility. His figure resembles that of a long black tube. An expressionless mask with purple highlights is plastered19） on his "head" of sorts， and while there is a "mouth" painted on the mask， No-Face has shown that his real， expertly hidden mouth is larger than the one on his mask. No-Face is a lonely spirit who follows Chihiro after having developed an interest in her sincerity. His vocabulary consists of grunts20） and moans as opposed to coherent words. Not knowing much about The Bathhouse or about other spirits in general， No-Face learns by example and adapts to his surroundings.

Shrek is a fictional ogre21） created by American author， William Steig， who appears as the main protagonist in books of the same name， and in eponymous22） films by DreamWorks Animation. The name "Shrek" is derived from the German word， Schreck， meaning "fright" or "terror". Shrek started out as the big and scary monster that drove people away but deep down he was a nice and independent person. But later in the future he got married to a stunning princess named Fiona， but because of her curse， she got turned into an ogre forever.

Francoeur is the main protagonist of the French animated movie A Monster in Paris. Francoeur started out as a tiny flea， but when he comes into contact with a super fertilizer23） and a potion24） for giving creatures a "melodious25） voice"， he grows to the height of 7 feet， and quickly gains the nickname "The Monster of Paris". However， when Lucille， "The Angel of Montmartre" discovers his talent for singing， she realizes that he's not a monster at all， and welcomes him into her home， The Rare Bird Caberet. After a corrupt police commissioner's26） plan to kill Francoeur （for his own ambitions） fails， Francoeur can finally enjoy singing his songs with Lucille at the Rare Bird unchallenged.
