TV ALUE OF Light
The wonder of architecture lies in the ability to improve and refine the quality of space by using the existing environment and lighting—just like 2016 Aga Khan Award for Architecture winning workHutong Children’s Liberary and Art Centreby Chinese architect Zhang Ke. It totally shows the value of designing in this sense.
建筑設(shè)計(jì)的奇妙之處,就在于利用已有的空間和光線,提升和改進(jìn)質(zhì)量——就像中國(guó)設(shè)計(jì)師張珂獲得阿卡漢大獎(jiǎng)的作品《微雜院》,充分體現(xiàn)了設(shè)計(jì)的這一價(jià)值。

Lately, the news about architecture is that Chinese architect Zhang Ke won the annual Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
The award winning project by Zhang is a transformation of a compound of houses in Beijing Hutong called Hutong Children's Liberary and Art Centre. The chaotic community that was before involved in equity problems, got refreshed by architects' concordance and rearrangement. The activity centre of the community is a black brick glass box lit by warm lighting, which has also turned the chaotic compound into a new Micro Compound full of human kindness. Light, makes the public and private areas clear and visible.
The spiritual lives of humans cannot exist without light, and the imagination of light even more.“Talk to the God” — light will be the best media, and even many pieces religious architecturs regard light as a kind of construction material to emphasise the metaphysics of religion. As for this, light, could be more important than armoured concrete. One of the best-known examples would be the Church of the Light by Tadao Ando. I visited it in 2015. In a Kasugaoka community in Ibaraki near Osaka, the clergy was about to close the door after people had left. I asked her to let me have a quick look for just 10 minutes, so that I could finally enter the church and see the worldwide famous Crucifix of the Light——a simple cross inlaid into lighting cracks on wall. The sharp comparison made this small space sacred.
Among the winners of 2016 Aga Khan Award for Architecture there is a project in Bangladesh. Here light is also viewed as an important element integrated in the work. I feel the power of interaction between the lighting and the space even surpasses what I saw in that afternoon in Kasugaoka.

前不久,傳來消息,中國(guó)建筑師張珂獲得最新一期的阿卡漢建筑獎(jiǎng)。
張珂獲獎(jiǎng)的項(xiàng)目是一個(gè)北京胡同大雜院的設(shè)計(jì)改造,他們團(tuán)隊(duì)將其命名為“微雜院”。一個(gè)因產(chǎn)權(quán)紅線混亂不堪的雜居區(qū),經(jīng)過建筑師的梳理捏合,煥發(fā)了新的空間生命力。社區(qū)的活動(dòng)中心,是一個(gè)有暖光溢出的玻璃青磚盒子,讓原先混亂的大雜院,變成了人情味十足的微雜院。光線,讓公共和私人的界限變得清晰可見,雜居的混亂換成了社交的魅力。
人的精神生活更離不開光以及對(duì)光的想象?!芭c神對(duì)話”——光是最好的媒介,以至于很多宗教建筑把“光”當(dāng)作一種建筑材料運(yùn)用其中,凸顯宗教建筑的形式感。在這點(diǎn)上,光,比鋼筋水泥更為重要。最為著名的就是安藤忠雄設(shè)計(jì)的“光之教堂”,我2015年曾經(jīng)造訪過那里,大阪近郊的茨木,春日丘社區(qū),看到了那個(gè)全球聞名的光的十字架,兩條十字交叉道采光墻縫,強(qiáng)烈的光比,讓小小的空間充滿神性。
這次阿卡漢獎(jiǎng)獲獎(jiǎng)名單里有個(gè)孟加拉國(guó)的清真寺項(xiàng)目,建筑師也把光作為重要建筑元素融匯其中,光線與空間組合起來的力量,我感覺超越了春日丘的那個(gè)下午。
If Church of the Light by Tadao Anto is a beautiful still picture, the Mosque by women architect Marina Tabassum would be a vivid GIF.如果說安藤的光之教堂是一張靜默的JPG美圖,女性建筑師Marina Tabassum設(shè)計(jì)的清真寺,是一張充滿靈性的GIF動(dòng)圖。
Bait Ur Rouf Mosque in Decca is made of red bricks, with a square structure surrounding a round hall. When sunshine goes over the U-shaped mountain and shadows on the praying wall with a huge light spot, it's like the sun with its golden ring, sinking from above to below, and finally lights up the whole hall; the ceiling of the round praying hall has a lot of holes on it, and then beams of light appear on the floor together, leaving shining spots in the shade.這座位于達(dá)卡的Bait Ur Rouf 清真寺,紅磚結(jié)構(gòu),方形圍合套著一個(gè)圓形大廳,陽(yáng)光越過U形山墻照射在禱告墻上的巨大光斑,猶如太陽(yáng)金輪,從墻上慢慢下沉,最終照亮整個(gè)大廳;圓形禱告廳的天花板上鑿了無(wú)數(shù)個(gè)空洞,光線集體投射在地上,在暗處留下星群光斑,在攝像機(jī)的延時(shí)拍攝下,形成了金烏下沉群星轉(zhuǎn)換的效果。
